No not at all, infact it has a much better turning circle than my old oil tanker
In all seriousness don't try parking in a multi storey car park!

Certainly not one of the best when it comes to tight U-turns.

And going all the way round mini-roundabouts
No, it is bad, having said that, my Focus ST170 is as bad

Any normal cars 3 point turn is a minimum of a 5 point turn in the coupe!

Re: poor turning circle - 13/03/2009 09:18
It's probably one of the worst aspects of a coupe IMO. I particularly hate parking in car parks (e.g. supermarkets) where there is usualy no chance of just turning into the space, it nearly always requires a 3 point turn at least. My wifes Octavia Estate is far more manoeuvrable.

Yep, definately in the oil tanker league
You get used to it and know whether you can make the turn... usually just that little bit to late! Very embarassing in car parks sometimes

Certainly not one of the best when it comes to tight U-turns.
And a handbrake turns not an option either, unless your driving on a frozen lake.
Having said that most local councils did nearly run out of grit this winter so it may be an option by next year !

I second the multi storey car park one, i bashed the sides of my coop going up the ramps, just had the car not used to the width/turning circle,

Re: poor turning circle - 13/03/2009 13:38
why anyone hvnt mention the coop got the poor turning circle before .... as soon i park up after a test drive i notice the poor turning circle ....
is it possible to fit a different rack on the coop to make it better ....

Re: poor turning circle - 13/03/2009 13:42
From what I remember it's due to the quick rack fitted to the 20vt. I'm not sure if the 16vt & other models suffer quite as badly.

Re: poor turning circle - 13/03/2009 21:06
so wil the 16vt rack fit onto the 20vt car ..

Re: poor turning circle - 13/03/2009 21:16
Part of the problem is the longer 5 cylinder engine fitted transversely = greater width, so wheels not allowed to turn in so much = larger turning circle

Re: poor turning circle - 13/03/2009 21:35
Yeah definately one the worst aspects, makes me look like a complete t!t when attempting to park it
