Haggerty insurance quote

Haggerty insurance quote - 03/09/2021 12:31

Just had a quote over the phone for my 20v NA and it seems the max value they will entertain is £7000

£243.08 based on max 1500 miles and garaged.
Seems reasonable but any thoughts from those of you that have experience with the various insurers?

Footman James, agreed value 15k, £338, with 5k p.a. max mileage. That's parked on the street outside the house in Edinburgh....

It’s not what it’s really actually worth, I’ve taken my chances.

Footman James have quoted £223 based on same value and mileage which looks favourite at the moment.

Used to be with Footman, but prices rose yearly. A few years ago when i purchased my garage there was no difference when I told them the Coop would be garaged at the next time when insurance was due.

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 16/09/2021 15:12

Via Adrian Flux 3rd year Insurance renewal quoted at £225 for 6000 miles pa , garaged , no points , 2 year NCB, plus SWMBO also on as 2nd driver, agreed vale £3500.

I got that down , still with AF, to £175 with me as the sole driver , for 3000 miles pa.

Just before renewal I sold the car and am pleased to say AF cancelled the 3rd year renewal I had agreed with them at no charge.

I’m not pleased that I’m back at £500 ish for the replacement car , an RCZ . It’s not a classic car sir and insurers don’t like the first year of car ownership .

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 08/01/2023 13:02

That's darn good.

Negotiated agreed value of £9.5k, full comp -5k a year, including lap insurance (to cover nurburgring years ago)and full EU cover (many I should do an anniversary eu drive before they stop visits unless you have a visa?)

£325.

And discussed with them that as this represents first year over £300 - they need to do better next year.

Having said that=its a bit of a bluff. Re-insuring with them is easier then ordering a coffee in starbucks.

Regards

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 21/03/2023 17:07

I have mine with Direct Line as they give a discount for multi vehicles although not huge amount. I got the coop and the Brera qoutes back within a week of each other, curiously the coop had gone up by 2.5% but the Brera by over 30%, when i queried it,( maybe Brera's are being stolen to be ground down into chinese sex potions?), they couldn't give me an answer so offered to knock £40 off each. I wasn't complaining about the cost just the difference but now the coop is fully comp, 8k/yr for £160, in practice it probably won't get anywhere near 8k so could have got cheaper still.

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 02/06/2023 13:28

Well mine just emerged from three year's hibernation and passed its MOT with only a fuel change... was going to just slap it on LV but they no longer want to talk to cars over 25 years old, so I'm waiting to hear from Hagerty. Trouble is I need Europe and probably more than the 5k their web page suggests.

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 02/06/2023 16:40

I've just switched to Lancaster (see other thread re. AF expensive renewal). They will accept a range of mileages - I'm on 5k per year but they will do more. Mind you I'm still waiting for their agreed valuation 3 weeks after sending photos, which is a bit annoying - effectively they sell you a year's insurance but only give you 11 months of agreed valuation frown.

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 02/06/2023 20:40

I'm still waiting for mine, the cover started on 2nd April. They do say it will be backdated for the whole 12 months though.

And they had insured both cars for the previous 2 years and there is no change in value requested by me.

The word tossers of the non-pancake variety springs to mind.

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 06/06/2023 07:18

Never got a response from Haggerty in spite of pushing their 'call me' button, so gave Lancaster a try. They were apologetic but couldn't find anyone who would countenance my being a German resident rather than UK. The DE insurers won't touch the car unless it's DE registered, so I googled 'expat car insurance' on Lancaster's suggestion, and found a broker in Hertfordshire - Sterling - who generally specialise in people wanting to insure a car in the UK for short periods.

They were able discover that Alliance were quite happy to cover me with three month's overseas cover from the UK, so that's who I'm with on a 6k mile limit and five grand value (but not an agreed value, just the usual 'that's the max you'll get').

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 08/06/2023 22:14

This evening I have finally got my Agreed Valuation certificate from Lancaster Insurance 2 months and 6 days after the policy started.

The certificate states that it is effective from 28 March 2023 and that it expires on 2 April 2025, so Wink should be reassured by that.

Re: Haggerty insurance quote - 12/06/2023 21:20

After hassling Lancaster a second time, they have produced my agreed valuation cert. which is valid for 2 years, so that's good news.
