Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 17/08/2012 02:23

You do know that we don't NEED to set up a new league each season, just restart the old one. That way everyone who was in the league and has creat a new squad this season has the chance to just join in again.

Anyway, I'm in. Again.

Nooooooo Routledge is on my subs bench, he's got two assists today already frown

Infact it's WORSE

2 of my players on the subs bench are currently in the 'dream team' of highest scoring players so far today cry
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 18/08/2012 17:04

It's killing me not being able to see anyone else's team.

3 players = 24 points, happy so far!

Bad decision so far was a last minute change Dyer -> Allen. Allen is on the bench but still...

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 18/08/2012 17:08

I'm currently praying that COloccini wont be able to play (he's apparently a 75% chance), If he doesnt play then it auto subs in another player, and my defender on the bench is Riise, who has 9 points.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 18/08/2012 17:09

YES!!!

They just announced on Sky that Colloccini is out.

woohoo

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 19/08/2012 18:29

It gets better smile ANother one of my 1st team didnt play which means it should sub in my other replacement.

If all goes to plan i should be 18 points better off smile

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 30/08/2012 20:30

Yep your points from the first GW will count. What's your total so far? It's quite tight at the top already, 8 points separate 1st - 4th!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 02/09/2012 10:04

Damm it, having a nightmare week, swapped Jelavic for Tevez as captain at the last second and cost me 12 points!

Struggling to keep up with some of you experts! tongue

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 02/09/2012 10:15

Looks like a low scoring week all round, this week seems to be all about the well placed Captain.
Posted By: coupedummy

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 02/09/2012 22:26

Not that low scoring after all...highest for me so far,

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 02/09/2012 22:32

Best for me too, and I'm not even on the RvP Bandwagon. Yet.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/09/2012 09:21

Well with RVP as my Captain (just brough him in to replace Rooney) this has been my best scoring week.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/09/2012 13:36

With a shot defence, this was my worst week so far, yet I'm back on top.

FreakinFreak - WC for you then...? Also I'm confident I can make the season without any Soton players wink

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/09/2012 20:08

I did actually do a little speculative wildcard yesterday - just to see what it could look like, and can get a cracking little team going, but its a bit early really and I'd probably miss out on those winter DGW.

And besides, RvP still has to survive the internationals - and he's such a fragile petal.

Regarding scum players, I haven't even looked at their prices, I've heard the defence is good value, but only for comedy purposes. Maybe I'll take a look at Rickeee when he moves in the January window.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/09/2012 17:21

The early season panic wildcard has been played, probably not a good thing as I had a few beers in me at the time and before I knew it I'd hit the confirm button!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/09/2012 19:30

If you play your wildcard you can change your team as much as you like before the deadline on Saturday, it's not a one change thing.

It's the done thing to play it this week (well last week really). Becuase of the 2 week gap and lots of people changing their teams, you load up you team with the big performers using the wildcard, then as everyone else changes their teams, these players go up in value as more people pick them (the prices get updated at 3am each morning apparently). Then just before the dealine on Saturday you are still on the wildcard so you can pick the team you really want, having made a tidy profit.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/09/2012 19:47

I am trying this tactic that Truffle has said, mainly because I needed a few key players in and get a few injuries out.

To use it to get cash doesn't really work. Bear in mind you recieve 0.1m for every 0.2m a player's price rises. So far 2 of the players I've specifically bought to cash in from have gone up by £0.1m, however I now have to hope that by Saturday morning they both rise by another £0.1m to be able to make a mighty £0.2m from this tactic. Still it's better than nothing.

The rest of the players I have bought have mostly gone up in value but since I'm not planning on flogging them its largely irrelevant!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 15/09/2012 14:25

Mucho congrats to all those who managed to squeeze RvP into their squads - and there he is, keeping Kagawa company on the bench.

40 points today so far with 4 players yet to play..
Van persie
Podolski
Mertersacker
and gutierrez.

If van persie and podolski get goals or assists im going have my first good week.

Villa looks like a poor side indeed.

Villa are very poor and I fear for them this season. Everton could have had 5-6 past them a few weeks ago!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 25/09/2012 19:46

Picked the worst team EVER this year - Aguero, Rooney, Agger, Vidic looked good about six weeks ago. Good job I didn't enter this league!

Berbatov out for a few weeks!

Thought I'd bump this one as we are approaching the half way point in the season. It's a tight league this year with constant position changes mid table. Here's hoping for a 0-0 Sunderland v Reading game and a hat trick from Ba!

I'd take that for sure!!!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 11:23

While I'm making wishes I'll also go for Fletcher to play 10 mins of the Reading match and get a Red. That would make Betty very happy!

Which team is yours T_V?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 11:28

I certainly don't want fletcher to play. I had him for the double game week. But as he didn't play the last game I don't want him to play this game. That way Noble will sub in and get me 7 points. Also don't wants Gorks to play, ad then Clyne subs in and get me 10 points.

My team is Olafs Axes, so sitting down in lowly 10th. But could be aout 6th after tomorrows games (if Fletcher and Gorks don't play, if they do, will that is a bummer).
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 12:15

I'd be fairly confident gorkss won't play, but I'm not so sure about fletcher...

That would be my guess!

Although with Morrison out with an ankle there's a chance Gorkss may reappear!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 16:00

I really bloody hope not!!!! I didn't even mean to leave him in the team this week. He was meant to be on the subs bench. Will be gutted to miss out on my points from Clyne!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 18:01

I've had a cracking week; into 5th! smile

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 18:50

Strong performance gargoil, and the GW isn't over yet!

T_V I'd like to say I hope gorkss doesn't play but frankly I'm a competitive sort so I hope he comes on for 5 mins at the end!

It's been an interesting double gameweek although I'm not sure of a huge amount of extra points for reading and Sunderland players. Betty still has one from each in, so here's hoping!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 20:06

Ok so Ba is starting, so that's good news. Here's to a brace!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/12/2012 22:33

SB'o'L have been bloody rubbish. We are the QPR of the league - spent loads of money (transfers) and still can't get anything to click.

This week I am hanging my hat on Fletcher remaining injured - that way Michu steps up for the armband and Nelsen comes off the bench - +21pts. Go on Fletch, take the week off.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 11/12/2012 13:36

Eitherway you've got Demel coming off the bench for Walcott and that's another 5.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 12/12/2012 10:02

Worked out ok for me in the end. Fletcher playing was fine with me as he scored. 80 points is the most I've had in 1 game week. Pushed me up to 6th, and most importantly top of the office league!
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 12/12/2012 11:46

Yes not too bad for you in the end. I was happy that one of the doubler teams kept a cleansheet, although less happy Sess scored as many in my leagues captained him. Still all told it was a successful DGW for me which pushed me into the top 78k.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 24/12/2012 09:30

Transfered mata into the team, fully expecting villa to take a hiding. How many of the 8 goals did he get? Zero frown on a side note, it was first Round of the fantasy cup weekend, and I got knocked out.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 27/12/2012 23:00

Mata paid off again. Personally I'd prefer consistency over the year (that he's had) compared to one week of a high score then 2 and 3 points for weeks after. Guess who Pistol Night has (finally) transferred in this week.

Now I've put him in, he'll get crocked.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 27/12/2012 23:32

After double hitting on the transfers every week I finally forced myself to stop. And then with half an hour to go I double-hitted. I bought in Bale.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 28/12/2012 10:32

That rescued your gameweek somewhat!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 28/12/2012 22:11

Yup, and it kept me in the H2H, which I shall be vacating tomorrow.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 29/12/2012 19:22

This week, with half an hour to go, I ditched Silva to bring in Walcott. Bacon-saving, two weeks in a row.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 29/12/2012 20:47

Well played there FF. My 5 off the bench should bolster my score reasonably well but for the second week in a row i could be fielding 10 men.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 29/12/2012 23:15

I'm on ten too, nine if Nelsen's still ill.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 30/12/2012 10:02

I spent 2gw transfers sorting my bench out in the run up to Christmas as rotation, suspension and injury over this period mean you need a working bench. It's typical that Shorey is now not in readings starting line up.

Come to think of it I can't remember when I last fielded my first XI.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 30/12/2012 21:52

Well that turned out all right.
At one point I was looking at single figures for the entire game week. In the end, pushed past them pesky Twacklers, and still in the cup. Lil' yay!
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 01/01/2013 13:20

Now we enter the final GW of the Christmas period. Are we going to see more rotation? I can see Mata being benched, but I hope not!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/01/2013 09:46

A great week for me and up to 6th now. Could have been even better but I left Noble on the bench.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/01/2013 10:21

Did anyone else see the glitch earlier? I had 724 points with Suarez providing 260 assists!

TV, I bet you wre cursing Rafa for bringing Mata on for 16 minutes!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/01/2013 10:53

Yeah saw that glitch too. Another liverpool player (forget who) had over 1000 points laugh

Yup, damn Rafa. When I heard Mata was on the bench I was actually pleased! Still Mata has been dropped from my team now as I've used my wild card.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 03/01/2013 13:17

Its all gone a bit Pete Tong so there is a card that is wild getting played vey shortly!

I'm considering the wild card too...

Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/01/2013 18:37

Scroll up to the top for the league code, should work fine.

Note: this will only work if you have 1,108 points or less. Anymore than that and you'll have to wait till next season.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/01/2013 18:45

Tried to join but not letting me. I will try on laptop later!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/01/2013 19:02

Checked my current points and I'm on 1168. So there's a cap on the points you're allowed to have before you join?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/01/2013 21:22

That's the most important rule!

Current limit stands at 1108. I have high hopes for my team this weekend so this entry point could rise by 60, or even 70 points. Further info on entry criteria will be available once the bp's are dished out on Monday.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/01/2013 22:28

There most certainly is a points limit on joining the league. You've got 7 too many for my liking!
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 12/01/2013 17:42

So far so good for me, Dava when you join it'll be close between you, Porto dinorwig and me (pistol night) for top spot. I'm top of the pile but anything could happen by the end of the GW. FF is having a shocker so far.

Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 14/01/2013 12:55

Yes 80 points isn't a bad score so far, nor is your current GW rank!

I think I'll be bumped off the top spot by Porto dinorwig, who is 7 points behind but has 5 not 3 left to play. Here's to Hazard getting a red!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 16/01/2013 22:41

Hats off the Iolo Williams with a score of 108, which means you'll jump me for first place.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 24/01/2013 09:03

Well another great week for me,a nd the first time I've ever scored over 100 in a game week. I'm closing in on the 4th spot, but the gap to the top 3 is probably a bit to big for me to ever get up there. But considering earlier in the season I was down in 10th or something I'm quite pleased.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 24/01/2013 09:21

I'm less pleased as Walcott aside my doublers were shocking. Lesson learnt there for me. Thankfully the rest of my team carried me through with a reasonable score and I've got another green arrow for overall rank.

I'm happy with maintaining second position, with Ahhhhh & Porto swapping positions around me.

TV a nice score there, you're leading the monthly score.
I've yet to break the 100 cherry this season, and frankly with no future DGW's it's unlikely I will.

I'm sure FF is less than happy with his performance, with you only 15 points behind him.

I'm chuffed with my points this week! If only Podolski had played in both games! :-)

Not bad Verde, especially considering the 8 point hit you took. But there's closing, and there's passing - and I haven't yet wildcarded.

And I've got another £5m to play with. Eat my dust.

You are now 11 points behind FF. What a difference 3 weeks makes!

Dave and me are dropping Iolo for the race for 1st place. It's still tight at the top.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/02/2013 13:49

I'm very pleased with my results in the last few weeks. I'm climbing nicely up the table. Still no chance of winning the league, but I'm certainly going to do my best to put some pressure on.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/02/2013 20:04

I'm in second (Betty Humpter) and scored the 3rd highest in the league this GW. As I said Dave & me are dropping Iolo in the race for the top spot.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/02/2013 20:43

Ah. Well in that case, Iolo better up his game.

I think 100pts is a bit too big a gap to close at this stage of the season, scratching about for differentials but I don't think there's going to be enough of them.
Posted By: Gunzi

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/02/2013 22:14

I took a punt on one last GW with bramble, but that didn't work out too well for me!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 06/02/2013 08:32

Trying to find differentials to close the gap I agree is very tricky right now. Also I'm leading my work fantasy football league, and as there is money riding on that one I'm not sure I want to experiment too much. I will just stick with what I think are the more obvious choices to sustain that lead (and maybe get 3rd in FCCUK if I can).

I'm top of my paid (Gold) league, and agree that the obvious choices usually pay dividends. My main differentials are my formation allowing 5 high priced mids and extra cash to allow VP & Suarez to sit up front. I can then experiment with defenders.

That is similar to me, although due to bad choices early on I can't quite afford Suarez up front so have Sturridge instead. Seems unlikely I will catch you top guys, especially if our teams are so similar.

Similar teams is definitely common at this point. Thankfully Dave has a different enough team to me, so I've got a chance this weekend to get back to the top.

I hadn't realised our teams were so similar TV!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 13/02/2013 19:06

Pretty poor week for me so far. Experimented a bit with the double gameweek thinking Gerrard would have a good return as captain but alas not so far....a less than impressive 0! Should've gone with my instinct on Kebe in the previous week but bought in De Guzman instead and missed out on 2 valuable midfield goals but hey ho!
Like the fact our teams are fairly different near the top as it keeps it entertaining

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 13/02/2013 22:10

I'm reasonably happy so far, but have a similar problem in that I have Sturridge who didn't play the first match and Suarez who got booked, to my total from the first Liverpool match was 2 points!

There's still a second match with all to play for and swansea are notoriously leaky away from home.

You're right it's good that our teams are quite different as it will certainly make it interesting as we enter the final 1/3 of the season. It's still close between you and me Dave!

Poor for me too. Also I did have Michu as captain then changed to Gerrard at the last minute! Bad mistake there.

I'm happy with the result today. Glad nobody near me had Enrique in, that's for sure!

TV you're still hanging on to FF's coat tails!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 18/02/2013 08:49

Was still a good result for me in the end, but that isn't going to be enough to catch anybody. I need superb results to catch up with any of you top guys. The good news is I'm 100 points clear of 2nd place in my work league now laugh

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/03/2013 12:13

TV, did you wildcard last week, or is that really a 24pt hit you took back there? and for 10pts, hmmm maybe that's one knee-jerk that didn't quite work out.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/03/2013 12:33

Yup, I really did do that. Hopefully it will be worth it over the last few weeks in the season. Had to try something to catch anyone infront laugh Don't care if I come 4th/5th or 6th really. I always try to go for a win, even if it is a long shot.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 10/03/2013 12:38

TV you are utterly mad, but fair play for trying it. I guess you are still top of your paid work league so it was worth a shot.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 16/03/2013 22:43

Taken my eye off the ball in the last few weeks, but am planning my comeback to reclaim top spot - which would be a first for me (lierally!) in the FCCUK league. Was pleased that I was actually top for a while this season but I've had to double wilcard since January as things hadn't gone quite to plan .... rolleyes

Thankfully Theo came on and got an assist. Took an 8 pointer this GW, so far so good apart from the lack of Fellaini action.

I've had a pants few weeks! frown
Still top by 100 points in my no prize work league, defending my title! Need to play catch up in this one...

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 04/05/2013 19:58

Last week was great, this week - so far - pretty rubbish. The only good result was seeing the outside possibility of Scumhampton getting relegated, moving fractionally closer.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 05/05/2013 12:30

I'm happy where I am with a 71 point buffer and half of this plus 2 more GWs left. I've got a similar buffer in my paid work league but the school league I'm in I've dropped to 3rd. Come on City!

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 15/05/2013 08:34

Take that Wiggo's - eat my runner-up dust. Looks like Soopaboonch'o'lads might just hang on to the first of the losers spot.

That is unless them PeskyPistols have a rotten finale and a buffer of 56 turns out to be no buffer at all.

Re: Fantasy football 2012/13 - 20/05/2013 11:59

Well done Pistols, and nice overall rank (and if you hadn't bought in Michu you would've been inside the top 5K).

Really I guess I'm just happy to be 2nd, at one point fourth was looking the most likely.
