The Tom Jones adverts are a little out of place.

Indeed a shocking video, let down by the dodgy squelching sound effects.

Let's hope it works for some. Unfortunately, a large part of the target audience is too stupid to get the message.

Most days while commuting I see someone texting and driving

Very rarely is it anyone other that a teenage girl ?

Agree the baby was the shocking part.

I saw a woman texting with one hand and holding a fag in the other hand recently whilst 'driving'

That kind of thing should be played to every single teenage driver on the day they take their test!

The amount of kids that kill or are killed, especially around here, is shocking, hopefully something like this might make them stop and think. Mind, losing their 'mates' for real up here doesn't seem to make much difference to their terrible driving.

I'd go further still with major restrictions on what they can drive, when they can drive, who they can have in the car with them, maximum speeds they can drive at and every car should be fitted with a device that kills mobile signals.

Ah, slight snag there, although I fully agree with your sentiments, the Airwave radio system used by all the emergency services uses the mobile network.

I kinda agree/disagree with this. Could be good to go down the same route at having to be 21 to own a bigger bike....


But to be honest that said i wouldnt of had a Coop & would still be in my 1.2 Punto untill May next year! And i've never had a crash neither do i ever drive recklessly in it.

So, its kinda some individuals spoil it for everyone!

Rather, some individuals are capable of avoiding the group insanity.

Funnily enough I almost posted this link to the NY Times earlier in the week with the same heading, far less graphic but being interactive it's a pretty good demonstration to anyone who thinks they can concentrate on driving while texting, of just how deluded they are.

(link goes to a flash game that tests your ability to change lanes accurately and respond to text messages at the same time. It's on the NY Times website so you may need to register to see the content, I'm not sure if they still do that)

My machine must be too fast ! Couldn't even read the text at the speed the gates were flying past.
