Baby granddaughter arrived last night at 11:39 and only a month early! Still managed to weigh in at a healthy 5lbs 9oz

Ah well, bit of a story behind this. Cutting it short(er) the name appears to be Elana (or something like that), despite the fact that for the previous six months the chosen name had been Sofia.....I only got told of the change this morning.

No photos; the pregnancy has been a very fraught time due to a Rhesus conflict between mother and baby, both of them nearly died at different stages of the pregnancy and the baby required an in-utero transfusion over the past couple of weeks. She is currently in intensive care (or SCBU to use the correct term) undergoing treatment for severe jaundice and will probably require further transfusions etc. For that reason my son has banned all photos as he doesn't want pictures of his new daughter with tubes/leads etc published, Can't blame him for that I guess.

The medics seem happy enough with her at the moment and I'm happier now that she is here and "more accessible" for any treatment she may require........and to think we moan about doing timing belts on a coupé!

Thanks for all the kind wishes folks, I'll update the thread if I hear more.

Congratulations Stan. Glad to hear mother & baby are both doing well, my sister had a Rhesus conflict with two of her three kids, does make for a somewhat worrying birth and makes you truly appreciate the hospital staff.
