1st Practice starts at 11am. Merceded have a new exhaust that helps low speed conering so they may be a threat this week. Mclaren are the team on form.

Alonso for the win, I reckon. One McLaren will do well, the other stumble, but which way round? Mercedes, Red Bull and Lotus, could be a threat. Will tyre wear prevent Sauber repeating Monza's heroics?

Did nobody watch quali? Maldonado second. That could result in a big shower of carbon fibre.

I watched. Amazing lap by Maldonado, the boy is quick. If only he could combine it with some track manners...
Mind you, nobody had an answer to Hamilton - even his final lap where he tagged the wall was faster than 2nd place man.
Martin Whitmarsh sounded a bit nervous about the run down to turn one!

Anyone else watching this on Sky and finding that the sound is out of sync ?

Ahh good it's not just me, a few people are moaning about it on other forums.

Some interesting manoeuvres going on in that race. The track is way too narrow to be anything much more than a procession and/or scrapyard.

McLaren have signed Perez too (I'd imagine they'll be relieved to get one of the more talented drivers).

I wonder how much influence those last couple of events in the last race had? (Hamilton's retirement, Schumacher's accident)

Maybe it really has been a done deal for a while?
