The great debate - 08/04/2015 14:23

Something a little more light hearted than the usual debates/rants

In my house it's A (not through choice) as I believe B to be the correct way!
Posted By: Jim_Clennell

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 14:27

B, obviously. Though others in this household bafflingly seem to apply a random approach.

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 14:31

b too, but if top layer is overhanging top layer [ 2 ply], then roll back top layer all the way round and then both layers of paper will be the same length.
Can't believe I just posted that, but no one in my old family home ever got it laugh

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 14:31

B for me laugh
No doubt.

But there are several articles about this choice, many psicologist studied this debate.

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 14:54

B.

Else the insoucient flick of the wrist that separates the desired sheets from the roll causes the knuckles to rap painfully against the wall.

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 15:06

B obviously too - especially where the roll is mounted over your shoulder - it's just easier to reach

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 15:45

B. A is absurd.

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 16:46

Always B - winds me up a treat when Wifey deploys 'A' to the point that I will reverse it to 'B' - she never notices.....

So far it's an unanimous vote.

Il be showing this to the other half later.

But I suspect it will make no difference what'so ever!

That's where the back up roll is stored. You don't dispense from that, Shirley?

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 20:41

No other way but B!

Even the grandkids have been trained to do this laugh

Just need to teach them how to NOT use near enough a whole roll each time they go for a No 2 rolleyes laugh

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 20:45

B every time, every roll, and I check and change where necessary. silly

Meritorious and less-stretched B

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 21:13

What do we think of toilet roll holders mounted sideways (usually in public toilets, etc), that use large toilet rolls - should the toilet roll be placed so it's facing forwards or backwards (towards the door or the wall behind you) ?

I personally feel it should face forwards, towards the door, but any thoughts on this situation? laugh

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 22:22

you really do need to get out more often Theresa !! laugh

Re: The great debate - 08/04/2015 22:25

Towards the door, but I try and avoid public toilets and usually make a toilet paper seat if nature calls.

Sit down wee's, I like to treat myself smile

Re: The great debate - 09/04/2015 08:19

Definitely B but my wife insists on A which annoys me too! biglaugh

Re: The great debate - 09/04/2015 08:33

seems to be a trend here, men like it on view, women prefer it hidden round the back !
Posted By: Theresa

Re: The great debate - 09/04/2015 19:30

That surprises me really, as it's generally women (no offence, etc meant) that clean the bathroom, etc, so I would have thought most would be like me and obviously you men would have preferred B, as no/less muck shocked , fingermarks, etc., would be on the wall behind the toilet roll holder.

T - MUCK? Finger marks? I don't like what you're suggesting gets spread on the walls near improperly set up TP!

What about option C = IZAL!

It fed from the middle so no A or B debate required.

Re: The great debate - 10/04/2015 11:10

Back in the days when I was at sea, shiny toilet paper much like Izal with the words "Property of the Board of Trade" printed on every sheet was the standard issue.

It was great for writing airmail letters on according to a couple of Swedish harbour pilots.

Re: The great debate - 10/04/2015 11:34

I remember Izal, we used to have it in our outside loo!

B is correct unless you have an Andrex puppy and you *don't* want to roll it all back on when the little blighter pulls it all off and wraps it around everything..in that case A is clearly the only solution.

And I trust that after doing the deed, we all fold over two corners to make a nice neat point for the next user?

Re: The great debate - 10/04/2015 12:15

Sounds like the same stuff my gran used to have on the farm where I used to spend my summer holidays as a kid. It was like using grease proof baking paper. Completely unabsorbent, but very strong. And very cheap. Essentially useless for the task in hand......

It has been said there are more people using their right hand when cleaning their behind than left handers. In saying that most do indeed use toilet paper.. hehe
