Re: Fallout 4 - 02/12/2015 10:36

Have you played the previous ones?

I must say I am enjoying it - about 50 hours of game play in so far so just getting into some of the story lines.

I am trying to play without VATS and no companions except dog meat as its a little more challenging that way. Will have to see how it pans out.

Not so keen that Power Armor is so available (1 have at least 3 full sets) but I guess use is limited by fusion cores.

Re: Fallout 4 - 02/12/2015 17:13

I racked up hundreds of hours on Fallout 3 but never really got into New Vegas...

Not sure on hours played but I'm level 41 for perspective.

I LOVE VATS mode and, although I do use Cait, I find they make it harder by giving away my position all the time.

Yeah, power armour is a big change but I quite like it. Special occasions only smile

Settlements are interesteing but I'm still not sure why I bother keeping them all happy... Lots to do though!

Re: Fallout 4 - 02/12/2015 22:06

Sounds like your way ahead of me then. I'm not even level 20 yet.

I played fallout 2, brotherhood of steel and fallout 3/nv.

VATS is cool but makes it easiler as you end up using less ammo.

Settlements meh. Dont really see the point. Done things needed to finish quests otherwise fccuk em. Its a tough world and all that. Im a lone wanderer with just my dog for company.

Re: Fallout 4 - 03/12/2015 20:25

Currently on level 31. Too many hours invested in creating and setting up defences for my settlements - I think it sparks off the DIY survivalist in me......Bizarrest thing so far is finding one one my setters lying face down (dead) in an irradiated pool of water (in the middle of Starlight Drive in). I have had to fence that pool off as a result. S'pose I really should do the main story.

Re: Fallout 4 - 03/12/2015 22:50

Too much like hard work. I've just walled up the red rocket garage and put a load of gun turrets on the roof to keep out unwanted visitors. Job done.

That said I have found a good way of making adhesive using resources from sanctuary.

Re: Fallout 4 - 04/12/2015 16:32

I'm loving fallout 4, I've never played a fallout game before so wasn't really sure of what to expect, apart from reading on the net and talking to friends. I've just got to level 25 and not really completed much of the main story at all, I keep getting distracted by all sorts of things.

I went all out in Sanctuary planting crops to make adhesive, but the game has bugged out on me, I've about 50 mutfruit plants that cant be harvested. I built a house with turrets on top and inside, guarding my power armour, bobblehead and magazine collection. Moved all chem, armour and weapon stations inside the house. And built a pool table, that I am slowly collecting balls for.

Oooh, and I built a safe in the floor of my new house, to house my weapons as I wasnt happy with them being in the workshop for raiders to attack.

If I'd spent the hours I've spent in this game on the car instead, my coop would be perfect!!

Re: Fallout 4 - 06/12/2015 15:46

Sanctuary is my main stronghold, I have walled it off and set up defences all around. I have even clothed my settlers in combat fatigues and combat helmets/armour, and given them combat rifles with 15 rounds a piece. Only one group of raiders have dared have a pop so far, and they didn't get very far.....
I think Preston Garvey has a bit of an eye for me - I am flattered, but I have hooked up with Cait, so I hope he gets the message and isn't too offended smile

I've walled up my base (the garage near sanctuary) so when I leave no one can get in - just move a wall section to get in when needed.

Wait until eight Super Mutant Masters with miniguns and missiles launchers attack them... They go straight through the lower level turrets... and me! I had to re-load and return wearing Power Armour with all the big guns to sort them out. Epic battle though! cool

I'm finding it so difficult to bring a LOT of settlements up to a decent standard in terms of defence. I'd be interested to see how people manage walls around them given that the junk walls don't snap together and that ground is usually so uneven... It is so tedious lining it all up...

Re: Fallout 4 - 11/04/2016 10:35

Anyone still playing. One DLC issued and another due soon.

I'm still playing but haven't progress too far on the main quest line. Think I am going to hold off choosing a faction till after the big DLC due later this year. still plenty to do

Also added quite a few mods to my game, nothing which cheats like adding ammo etc more details like making night properly dark, keeping the weapon lowered until aimed, and some settlement tweaks.

Re: Fallout 4 - 11/04/2016 14:05

I'm still playing. Finished the first DLC the same weekend it was issued.
Around lvl 63 now, and still haven't decided on faction. I'm sure I have to choose quite soon though.

Also, I have way too many Power armors. T45, T51, T60, Raider and the fancy X-01.

Re: Fallout 4 - 11/04/2016 16:15

Automatron was very short - but was as much about the robot crafting as the story line. I now have a robot companion rather than the usual suspects. Better carry weight plus with a minigun and gatling laser its rather handy for suppressive fire.

Yep, I've also got way to many Power armor suits too. I think I have something like 20 sets which is stupid. I have yet to really use it as well. perhaps they are need later on in the game but so far not needed them.

Re: Fallout 4 - 11/04/2016 17:49

I've pretty much stopped playing now, about level 65, chose my faction and blew the hell out of everybody else.

Kristian, you will have to choose very shortly!!

My games bugged, whenever I go to the Castle everyone turns on me for some reason. I've still a few missions left to tidy things up. I haven't bought the DLC as I missed the date for getting it cheap and I doubt I'll pay £40ish for DLC.

Had a right blast playing it and will now go back to Fallout 3 on the PC, apparently that's much more decision led, rather than fallout 4 that seems to have the same outcomes regardless of 'choices' offered to the player.

And as for power armours, I have 23 I think. Even made a pink one for the laydees. And there is absolutely no need for them whatsoever, nothing in the game needs them, unless you come across a pack of Deathclaws at level 3 or something.

Re: Fallout 4 - 11/04/2016 18:27

what faction did you side with? If its an ememy of the minutemen then thats the reason they turn on you.

Re: Fallout 4 - 14/04/2016 21:06

Currently lvl 143
Bit of a hoarder >30 sets of power armour
Some mega structures for arenas pimped out like a brothel
And almost all settlements live in the sky with minimal turrets

I enjoy played Fallout3 & NVegas, I think that 3 was a little deeper with less BS quests
The next dlc will end my love for the game, at 3gb it's a whopper and may inject some life back in it.
That' said you can't get better value than the Fallout series and Bethesda in general.

75 hours in and I haven't really scratched the surface yet.

Here's a video I made of some Gunners attacking a settlement -

Anyone got Far Harbour? £19.99 ! I did ... Not convinced yet..but will see

Re: Fallout 4 - 23/05/2016 09:45

Yes I have it as part of the package they did a while back

Seems fun and with some of the mods I am running makes its more creepy than the main game. Only done 15 or so quests from the people in harbour but have picked up a couple of unique weapons and a nice set of Vim! branded T51 power armour to add to my collection.

Re: Fallout 4 - 23/05/2016 14:31

It seems I'm around the same place as Hyperlink on Far Harbor.
I like it so far. It's refreshing to feel vulnerable again, seeing as my fully modified Gauss rifle only barely damages some of the creatures I've met.

Re: Fallout 4 - 23/05/2016 18:36

Yep.

Don't feel especially vulnerable as I'm running around in Mark VI X01 power armor much of the time but yes theres a few more shocks and surprises. Hermit crabs are interesting.

The Hermit crab was my first real "OH SH!T!!"-moment in the game.

Can't say it's worth £19.99 to be fair
