Anyone experienced a similar problem? Already have W10 and a major update came in on Friday - something like update 3975 (?) for a "safer internet experience" and it's worked 'cos I can't get on via wifi anymore crazy Looking into the wifi / LAN and they're all switched off but have got connected via an ethernet cable. There's a lot of comment on the internet and how to's by going into the computers command function but that's for those upgrading from W8 to W10. May be a download courtesy of Kremiln Komputers... shocked

No idea if it's a coincidence or not but around the time of the last update end of November my pc now keeps crashing deleted my wife's email account and won't let me add it back and it's own picture software deleted itself and will not reload I keep getting critical errors to the point of reinstalling it but it's probably the same faulty software and still does it but not as often
Could be hardware issues on mine but just don't know!
I'm 're
Uctant to buy bits to find it's not or that the mother board is shot and being a Dell probably won't be able to replace it
Let me know if you get to the bottom of your issues

Have you guys used the system restore facility?

BT give guidelines here: http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computin...-11364008291943

It's the old Windows roll-back facility but is disabled in Windows 10 as default.

Is there a new set of drivers for your wireless adapter?

The system restore files were also missing i had the one in november that was before the update but all my others had gone also
Then once I restored and it then started to automatically download the update again that restore point had gone too

Tried the repair function and that totally screwed it up so downloaded a disk image to use from Microsoft website and reloaded a new copy still crashing just not as much

Have you noticed anything in particular that makes it crash? Could be a faulty app if it's one thing in particular, or if just randomly crashing it's more than likely a RAM issue. Is the laptop blue-screening or just rebooting?

It blue screens then reboots mostly but sometimes just freezes like a screenshot
Other times the screen goes all pixalated with like small rectangles of colour almost like a dodgy jumper

The blue screen message is usually different things not always the same fault

Sorry for taking over this thread should of started my own biglaugh

H_R, that sounds to me like you have a hardware problem, start by running CHKDSK on your hard drive to see that you don't have any bad sectors that are affecting your Windows install. If all is okay I'd look at replacing your RAM or, if you have 2 cards of RAM, try taking one of them out in turn to see if that stabilizes your PC, or get them checked out at your local PC shop. I take it that you are running a competent anti-virus (at least)?

G_Man, as oxfordSteve has said, yours sounds like a driver issue, MS has a habit of updating drivers with the wrong one, find out what wi-fi driver you need from your laptop manufacturer's website and download the current version, uninstall the one you have using Device Manager and reinstall the correct one.
