Sooo.....
Here is a summery,
I've phoned the power company a few times about our power.
Some things ( anything electrical and on) pick up noise 0800 - 1600. Monday top Friday. UPS systems SCREAM! They sound ANGRY! I've only RMS Multi-meter to check supply so far.
I'm going to buy a Oscilloscope tonight Line-N and Line to E drop 2-5 volts when it happens. Some of our systems are on UPS my home office is 100% UPS even the desk lamps. Sitting room is on UPS. The drawing room is NOT on UPS.
Sundays I use the Drawing Room. The Radio Caught fire. today. this is in the drawing room.
Safe to say I'm not a happy bunny.
Cracked open the Radio it looks like the switch is on the low side of the transformer. so damage to the transformer could result in a short resulting in HIGH Current that has burnt out the components on the tuner circuit. At least from a visual inspection The only damage I can see is to the Tuner Circuit not the pre or power amps.
I intend to take the power company to court as this was reported and no action to rectify the mains was taken ( they have blamed our water supply( OK yeah I also Like LSD Mate Honest ) and the lack of a smart meter as We as we all know the old legacy meters since they lack the ability to be disconnected by the Chinese change the frequency of the supply willy-nilly.
Any one had slimier issue>? Any one have tips into using a Oscilloscope? Thinking some one near by may have a one-to- three phase adaptor plunged( or hard wired) in that is f**king about with the mains frequency and the current pulling current from my caps. Or is that crazy thought>?
