We've just seen a gritter.

Could it be the last one of spring, or the first of winter ?

Sometimes in very hot weather they spread sand onto tarmac to stop it melting away.

They are under contract from the paintshops to keep the work coming in?

We see them regularly as the council vehicle depo isn't far away, they go in for servicing, mots etc. In summer they do spread sand on hot roads and fit different attachments to the front for who knows what.
Given the number of chippies in Weymouth it would be helpful to have a vinegar attachment to go with the salt.
