How much does it weigh?

When I got the MOT done back in July after the head rebuild, I managed to get the car weighed whilst there (not with corner weighting I might add). Now, to try and help guess the right answer here I'll summarise some of the car:

Standard 16vt weighs 1320KG
16v N/A converted to 16vt
Compomotive 17" alloys
No rear seats / trim
Sound deadening removed
Full rollcage
FMIC
Custom exhaust manifold
Big turbo
3" exhaust
Carelli seats

So, with that in mind, what do you think the car weighs? For a bonus point, what does the front and rear weigh?

If it hasnt had any significant weight reduction other than the interior I'd guess about 1320kg

1140kg.

Depends how much fuel was in it!

I doubt it is much less than standard, the rear seats don't weigh much, Carelli seats are probably the same as standard but other items removed should compensate for the rollcage and other go faster items.

1400.kgs I'd say

When I used to do Ten of the Best, I often stripped the interior bare - on one occasion, I weighed everything that came out - about 140 - 150 kg

I had the car weighed and found it was something like 1250kg, so it was closer to 1400 when it was fully trimmed

On this basis, I'd say Alexis' car is heavier than standard - guess at 1350kg

No one has got close yet, only our Southern Hemisphere representative and he was guess was higher.

In that case, 1275kg, split 60/40 (765 / 510)

Actually, I got my maths wrong You were bang on the money with the 1350kg. I thought it was 1280kg for some reason. Front is 880kg and rear is 470kg

Rocket is way lighter, so your weight surpises me Alexis as I would of expected it to be at least 50kg under stock.

Not surprising he coupe understeers with that weight distribution.

I'm surprised that the 66/34 weight distribution hasn't changed much - I expected a full cage to put a fair bit more weight over the rear

Have you got an OEM bonnet on there or one of the aftermarket fiberglass ones?

That is alot of weight on the front. If it is OEM maybe 20kg to remove there at least?

Sure you have done all the battery in boot stuff and the like?

Get the hole saw out Begbie and do some more lightening! (plus flaring the holes for strength)
