New wheels, fitment advice

New wheels, fitment advice - 18/10/2016 19:16

Hi guys,

Considering some new wheels for the coop.

New wheels are same size 16". But with 4x100 Pcd and 73.1mm hub bore which can be fixed with wobble bolts and spigot rings... the only question is these wheels are 8j wide with 20mm offset, would these go straight on? Would I need spacers? Offset and the increased wheel width confuses me!

Anyone ?

Yes your need to run a spacer to clear the brembo calipers with a 20mm offset . Depending on the style of spokes on the rim you will need around a 36mm offset so a 16mm spacer but do a trial fit and messure the gap to get the correct size space .

So would I be right to assume 20mm spacers should be fine? That's all I seem to be able to find online !

Will 16 inch wheels even go over the brakes? The standard wheels are heavily machined on the back.

The only way to do this is by putting the wheel on the car and measuring. When I got my wheels many 17 inch wheels wouldn't get close to fitting.

Loads of 16mm spacers on ebay - 360934002364 , make sure you get hubcentric spacers 4x98 , 58.1 .

Thanks for the advice and link nismo! So the standard bolts are 1.25. So would I be right in saying I need to step up to 1.5 length bolts to account for the spacer?

I'm also hoping that the spacer combined with 8j width wheels shouldn't result in any rubbing etc?

No stick with the 1.25 but the thread needs to be 16mm longer than your standaed bolts and also a wobble bolt for the 4x100 , you should be able to find them on ebay aswell .
