front negative camber?

front negative camber? - 25/02/2008 17:20

I've run 1.3 negative camber on the front everyday and for track, and I'm just about t get it setup on a different suspension kit. How far can I go without it becoming unusable on the road?

From my own experiences, I’d say more than 1 degree was too much. I initially set mine up for negative 1.2 and while it provided really good turn in, it was just too much for the bumpy Scottish B roads I was mostly driving on. The car was wanting to find it’s own way over all the bumps and stuff. I also found it scrubbed the inside edge of my tyres extremely quickly. I’m now running at just under 1 degree negative which is more manageable.

I don’t suppose that helps you very much, but to quote Jimbo; anything more than negative 1.2 on the road will be too much.

Oh - pants. I might go for 1.5 and see how I get on. I think I'm running about 2 at the moment!

It might work out ok if you're mostly on decent smoothish roads. I felt I was going to end up in a ditch if I'd continued as I was.

I run 1.2 as i found 1.5 abit to much as well, 2-2.5 is great on track though

Grrrrr.... Just tried to set it up and the top mounts wont allow it to be cranked over enough - looks like its custom top mounts time!
