235/40 17 with r888 ... - 06/01/2011 01:10

Hello, i've searched all the forum and found some good & interesting info about but... not 100% convinced ...

my question is, the 235/40 17 on std road tyre (not semisclick that usualy at same measure, are litlle big fat and bigger...) usually with low rims ET (as et 30) and rolled arch, they fit.

but anyone has tried with toyo r888 235/40 17 ?

i've 20mm spacer (really, now they are fullbuilt into my disc brake bell) will i have some trouble ? where they could touch the rolled arch ? at rear i've done some work because also with 215/40 and lower spring/ammo kit, sometimes the rear rubber hit.. but now is solved.

i'll use them only for track day, but probably i'd like to make them legal by tuv etc... so need to be perfect setup, without touch rubber problem...

thanks lot for info wink

Ive liased with Alan Meaker (head of toyo motorsport) on Toyo 888's and its going to depend on your rim width (didnt see this in your post)

235 width will jus about fit on a 7" rim BUT would recommend perhaps a 215-225max. 888's are also know for a 'hollow wear characteristic' which may be exaserbated by running too wide a tyre for rim width.

If you google 'Alan Meaker, Toyo' you will probably find his number. Nice guy, proper advice.
