No pictures as I am in Istanbul, but whilst here the car has been worked on by FCSS - Luckily, Joe is based near my house, so he picks the car up and takes it back - Nice chap
Anyway, the following has been done to date...
**Belts
**Water pump
**Cam phase sensor
**Rocker cover gasket
**Clutch slave
**Thermostat
**ECU temp sensor
**Fresh coolant
and then this little lot will occur before the first of July
**New GTiR turbo installed
**Mapped by Flea
**New suspension and welded front subframe fitted
**HiD's fitted
**New hose set
**Other bits and bobs
I come home for a meeting in the UK on the 30th July so will take pics and update further then....

Looks better every time I see it patch
And newly refreshed crinkled rocker really tranforms the engine bay doesn't it. And the re-newed Alloys. One thing - on that side on shot - Are you missing non-
RED LE 20 VT badges? Hope to see it in the flesh one day...........LE meet!

Re: 1998 LE 99 Crono - Discussion thread - 04/08/2013 08:04
Yes, strange one, same badges on each side? Maybe specified from new by the first owner? I have no idea!
I'm getting her totally resprayed (lacquer peel on roof and boot) sometime early next year so will get the badges enamelled red at this point. Once this is done she 'will' look mint

Re: 1998 LE 99 Crono - Discussion thread - 04/08/2013 08:50
Wonder how challenging the crono colour will be to a paint shop? I doubt you'd be able to specify something like that as new from Fiat. Perhaps they were at the bottom of the box on the track! Great to see a good few cars are now being brought up to and kept minty....
Posted By: Anonymous
Re: 1998 LE 99 Crono - Discussion thread - 04/08/2013 09:56
If you can give the code to the paint shop they can match it. After 15 years being exposed to sun and the elements, the original crono colour will not be as it was straight from the factory anyways
Yes, there are some cacking examples owned by guy's on the forum. Great news.

It really is nice IMO, not everyone's cup of tea but I really like it and I've just about owned one of every colour apart from Porto, Pearl white, Moon, Scotty, and the colour that minimetaller has, whatever code that is?
So it turns out I have 'not' owned just about every colour after all

Re those badges. I have a page marked than can supply new ones, but they don`t have the correct colours for the LE. As one of mine is cracked i`ll probably get a new pair. Still trawling around German sites looking for the right ones.

Returning to Istanbul from Tashkent tonight. Then I will be in Turkey for a month (maybe - my passport has no pages left so may return to the UK in Nov to replace it). The short answer is ..... I have no idea, just before xmas
Galatasaray play Juventus at home on the 10th of Dec, so I'd imagine around the 15th - 20th....

Nope, it's those pesky Russians - But I have done this before on a World Cup pitch - just before a match - the guy's at the stadium royally ****ed up so I was called into fix it - it was the only way being two days before the match!

Hi Phil,
Good to meet you again at Joe's new place, still can't believe how close he's opened up shop!
Glad the clutch change went well, great spec and tidy looking car - shame when I got there it was 6ft up in the air.
Might have to make the trip to Halfords for one of those covers too, are they just their bog-standard outdoors cover?
Posted By: Anonymous
Re: 1998 LE 99 Crono - Discussion thread - 17/12/2013 21:31
Good to see you again too. Yes, they are the Halfords own make car covers, size medium. Pull them off months later and the car is just as you left it.
Obviously I clean and wax the car each time before covering. 3 strap ties underneath the car keep it all in place. Even during those high winds the UK recently suffered (I was not here, but the wife told me no problem).
