One question, can you see the first few pictures? smile

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 25/03/2014 18:53

No... it's because you've linked to Flickr pages, and you can't do that; you have to link directly to an image as you have in the later images.

Great work you are doing, please keep going.
Exhaust sounds amazing, but I thought the car seemed very lazy acceleration, just the base map?
I have to think of doing the 4 wheel drive thing also.

my thoughts exactly, for a claimed 450,500 bhp it did seem sluggish but then it is stil work in progress judging by the red bonnet! Lol but they might jst have strange tastes in Croatia! Hehe
out of intrest if you haven't dyno'ed your engine how did you arrive at your 450,500 figures??
Not doubting you though, just curious thats all..

keep up the great work...c

Hi, thanks smile
car was awful laggy with BW S200SX turbo and broken cam solenoid. But I still think that cc 9 sec 100-200km/h is not lazy, in my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong smile

lol, red bonnet is a shame to me smile I have problem with color matching because car is pearl white (still didn't find paint dealer who can guarantee that paint will be the same)
the power, that was just a fisherman's story.. smile
But if you look at figures I wrote in upper lines, 9 sec 100-200 (with full boost at 115km/h) and compare with other coupes with 450-500hp you'll get an answer smile
But, this is lousy measurements, so lousy that you even can't call that a measurements. Maybe I went on wrong road with typing hp's, but hp is something that really don't bother me.. what bothers me is how it's driving, turning, braking and time on track, so don't get me wrong smile

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 05/09/2014 20:25

er.. I hadn`t watched the second video, 9 seconds is not bad at all.
The exhaust sounds hilarious.
Reading through the modifications required for the 4wd makes me think I would have to do it to a car that didn`t matter so much to me as LE30 - I might do a right balls-up of the job. laugh

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - 02/10/2014 00:11

The level of engineering here is absolutley spot on! Are you the one doing the work? Much respect if so..
Sorry if my previouse post came accross a bit rude or dis-beliving, you jst get so many people who poat these wild bhp claims without even having their car dynoed! Lol
So thank you for your reply, can see now how you arrived at those figures but as you say its more about how they drive than what figures you can claim.. but saying that it is nice to knw if your latest mod has any affect on hp numbers..

What turbo are you running now you took off the sx turbo?

Love this project, my hat is off to you and all those others that take on things like this, wish I had the space time and know how to do more then just the general upkeep of our coupe.

As said keep the photos coming it all looks great

Thanks peoples laugh

2 Mr_cheese. I didn't see your reply in thread until today smile
I'm doing the work, with some help of friends. No one can do it alone smile
I'm still having s200sx turbo, but in process of development some kind of quick spool valve for 1.22 housing. I hope that I'll get better spool with more high end power.. will see how it will behave when done.

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 24/04/2015 17:47

Great to see you have made so much progress. News of today not so good.
Two steps forward one step back.

I would be annoyed at the machine shop, i`m sure we all have our machine shop cocked up story - mine is I needed two valve guides and a head skim...they skimmed first and then messed up the face when they did the guides!

Did you mod. the existing sump or source something else?

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 24/04/2015 19:00

It is more like 50 steps back frown
I just can't believe that he could made that kind of mistake..

I will make custom sump but for dry sump application. It is not big drama because there is two pumps that will pick up oil from engine/sump and send it to external tank for deaeration

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 26/05/2015 15:30

Sorry Josip, I didn`t mean to sound flippant. You are taking very big steps!

I remember reading a thread about M12 uprated head bolts for 20vt and I think the source was Peugeot, i`ll try to find the thread. Very much hope that some bolts studs can be found.

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 26/05/2015 15:49

I found a different thread showing bolt for Renault, same length but M12. If you haven`t had a chat to Juergen/Stichl yet...he may be able to help.

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 27/05/2015 17:56

No apologies needed, I didn't take that as flippant comment smile
It was a real bad day, I was sure that I've finally sorted all work with the engine but no, something always have to go wrong..
But what didn't kill us, make us stronger laugh

Bolts from Renault are adequate length but with 1.5 thread, and I have 1.25 thread in block.

"new" engine block was given to me by my friend. It's from 20v N/A, but as I looked it is the same block without oil feed hole for turbo. I will take it to the other machine shop next week for drilling, honing... Bought some measuring equipment just to make sure that machine shop that is marked as best in country will do the job right.

Car is now at my friend house for paint job. Will update some pics in a few days smile

450 - 500 bhp would give you a 100-200 time of under 7 seconds - my car is something like 6.6 for 60-120mph

I would estimate that 9 seconds is between 350-400bhp

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 31/05/2015 14:04

Maybe even those numbers are correct.. don't know, and never will as the car will have completely different setup as I switched my priorities from fast to driveable car smile

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 06/09/2015 07:34

Stunning, Zopa... very nice, and keep hold of your mad friend smile

The colour is very similar to the original 16v black metallic; black in the dark but grey in sunshine, perhaps a little lighter. I like it.

Miki, search for something similar to s2000 spacers!

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 22/09/2015 18:39

Nothing much you can do.. wheel spacers or low ET at rims. I've odered 9" wide rims with ET10 for rear end

This driveshaft spacers will do nothing but demolish your cv joint. If you ever manage to fit it smile

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 24/11/2015 14:31

Just saw your comments, been on the forum daily but somehow missed the topic smile

KBT - This makes me happy, no money can buy that kind of happines. smile You can imagine how much stuff I need to develop/made instead of just click "buy". But this is the path I want to go, everyone can buy stuff and mount it. But where is the happiness in that? smile
How is your health mate? Long time no typing in your thread?

Volumex - Sorry, didn't play with dry sump for a while. Just made pulleys for the pump and mounts for the tank. I still didn't mount all parts that were taken off for the paint job. When I finish body and interior I will throw myself at sump. This delay allows me to investigate design, this is very complex part of the build, and I want to make it best I can. Thanks God we can found all books and experiences online. Also producer of tank and pump were wery helpful. Will upload pics in original thread when do something in that subject.

Searching for adequate oil cooler. Found "Long Tru-cool" oil cooler very cheap. In price range of china/ebay coolers. Anyone had experience with this coolers?

Re: Coop 20VT 4x4 - discussion thread - 07/12/2015 22:45

It`s only been 9 months...
Health still poor, immune system has damaged my eyes as has a botched examination.
Car needs more than i`ll be able to manage but I hope to persuade someone to take it on when funds are available again.
All I have achieved since last update is that I painted the strutbrace, but a few bits get done next month.

I look forward to your next update. smile
