yeh coupe was very cheap really for what they were selling last year.Could of broke it and made profit but decided it was cheap enough to teach myself some stuff on.

Good luck with this mate, i got a bit of a god of a Le and very suprisingly it passed MOT first time, but not after i spent a few squid on it.

Wish i had the space and time to work on it myself, and get that gratifying feeling when it's finished.

Re: Coupedummy's coupe restoration discussion thread - 20/05/2009 22:04

thanks mate slowly but surely. I can tell you what the motivation is...its my bro's 20v na sitting on the drive all in one peice.

Its all clean and nice and drives brilliantly. The na is also wine red,so need to get my turbo runing to show him up.

How your coming?Havent heard of any disasters recently? (touches biggest tree i can find)

I take my hat off to you, i got my coupe as a rolling project. i.e odds and sods, you took the real mans route, under a tree for 12 months!

when its done, its going to look very nice laugh

Re: Coupedummy's coupe restoration discussion thread - 24/12/2009 09:46

the wheels look great!!!
i am going to get mine refurbed and was going to paint them up again but am thinking this time I will get them powder coated, do you know what the colour is of your wheels as it's very nice!!
weighing up the costs of the paint etc and I have a local place that does them for a reasonable price plus i have somewhere that will take the tyres off and refit them for free I would be daft not to powder coat them as it does last longer than painting them

Re: Coupedummy's coupe restoration discussion thread - 24/12/2009 10:02

Cheers mate, not sure exactly. They showed me there gunmetal colour which i stated that it looked a little flat,so they so that got this colour in for me.

I am very chuffed with them tho.

Re: coupedummy's coupe restoration project - 12/01/2011 18:22

What are the adaptor plates like for the hyundai seats?

They are tempting
Posted By: coupedummy

Re: coupedummy's coupe restoration project - 14/01/2011 01:55

I didnt make them up but basically steel section where the seat either bolts to or through to the original mounting holes.

Nigel made them up and i bought them from him

Don't forget little Dan Reuben, its not just been my sweat and blood that's rebuilt your Coupe, he's had an interesting introduction to this particular vehicle and their owners, yes the ramp is to high for him but he's giving as good as he gets now, lol laugh

City powdercoaters in digbeth Birmingham city center I had 2 sets done there myself. £20 per wheel.amazing

Re: coupedummy's coupe restoration project - 04/12/2011 23:42

As above mate, bargain..few tiny blemishes but you could easily be paying 50 quid per wheel not 80 a set.
