Good work, looks like you've been very busy. thumb

I like the B pillar respray you did in-situ, I wish I'd done that instead of removing half the interior to get the damn pillar covers off!

Can I ask how much the re trim of the wheel was please? I would quite like yellow inserts in mine sick

all in all some realy nice progress there mate, nice to make your own mark on your car. Im lacking in stamping my own mark on the bee, that said, I dont miss the time that got spent on the inky

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 01/12/2009 19:03

The wheel covering cost £130.00 and postage was £10.00 Sam. I bought the wheel to be covered from Steve_S on the forum for £25.00. It's really nice to hold, looking forward to getting it fitted.

I will also get the graphite grey roof done early next year. Decided to get her kitted up first though.

I'll be selling my old wheel for £25.00 at the end of the week too wink

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 20/12/2009 17:31

more good work done buddy!!
I have a spare gearbox too, it's for sale but if it doesn't sell i will keep it as a spare too.
Also I have a spare centre console i'm going to be painting but haven't decided yet to go porto blue or piano black, the jury is out!!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 20/12/2009 17:51

Mmmm, I went colour coded as it match's the dash strip: and continues the colour theme downward.

Now, as for yours, it is definitely different (engine bay) maybe this theme could move to the interior? New wheel from Trim deluxe with orange inserts/orange stitching and maybe orange gaiters and a black leather gear knob with orange embroidery, with a piano black dash, would look very nice .... I'm going on a bit now aren't I ... lol
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 20/12/2009 18:16

LOL I think that maybe too!! garish for the interior!!!
I have a new gear gaitor and handbrake gaitor to fit in black leather with pale blue stitching and eventually would like to get a black leather interior retrim to match.
I'm steering back towards porto again at the moment

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 20/12/2009 18:16

the orange is being contained to the engine bay and calipers!!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 20/12/2009 18:36

LOL - Almost had ya. The porto is the better option

How's the engine bay looking on yours? Had chance to get in there yet?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 21/12/2009 17:45

LOL my lad is counting down the sleeps too!!!
you make me sick getting all this work done!! only joking!!

the centre console is really easy to change, about ten mins.
two little screws above the ashtray and a hex bolt behind the centre fan knob!

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 21/12/2009 17:59

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 21/12/2009 18:03

All I have done is top up the screen wash with some proper screen wash and wash it, its just to cold to get on with anything. I have furby to finish (waiting on cable) and joes rocker cover to do. with the temp dropping so low its imposable to get any heat in to the shed so painting is out of the question frown

The next improvement to the bee will be some heated seats thumb

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 29/12/2009 13:14

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 29/12/2009 18:42

One of the nicest Coupes on here, great project thread too. As for the grille, i would either have a black honeycomb one on there, or a silver zender one. Keep up the good work.

Hi Phil,

you mention in your last post that you would consider a run down LE to build up....

What about this then??
LE for Sale

looks ideal

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 10/01/2010 11:57

What bhp are you looking to get patch?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 10/01/2010 12:01

Hey Marco,

I'd be satisfied with around 350bhp (plus/minus). At the end of the day I would be after a strong engine that is capable of more than I set as output.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 10/01/2010 12:06

I would look for a fmic and a gt28 rs turbo and a 3" down pipe then go see flea again!

Oh and a boost controller!!!

That should do the trick!

Then start saving for the re-build!
Have you down a compression test to check the engine?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Patch's Cheap Purchase Project - Discussion Th - 10/01/2010 12:10

Not had a compression check carried out yet. Will get it done...

I think your nuts selling the car for as little as you are, as you say your essentially giving the car away for £100 minus work and bills over 6 months. If you don't need the money. Find some storage and just mothball it for a few years
