Escort RS2000 mk2 resto thread discussion - 16/12/2011 21:17
Hi All,
Have been practicing putting up pictures ready for when i get round to taking some of my coupe resto!
The RS is a May built 1979 Aug registered (actually registered on same date as my daughters birthday, as the coupe is on my wifes coincedence?!?)
The colour is Riviera Blue, was originally a black car but my 1st RS was riviera and decided to re-paint it that colour as there are quite a few black RS's but not many riviera Blue ones and i have fond memories of the 1st car.
Mechanically it was sound and most parts were re-used after checking and cleaning/painting.
Body externaly only needed rear arches (inner lip and outer) but front inner wings needed replacing.
Enjoyed the restoration and am very pleased with the way she turned out.
Not used a great deal but great to take out on a nice dry day and re-live my youth!
Peter.
