Who's up for more? Donny Sat 26th Nov £125 - 17/11/2011 07:18

Just had an email from Focused Events

Donny on Saturday 26th November, for £125. I'm sorely tempted.

Anyone else?

Me Me! As an alternative though, how about booking with Donington on Sunday 4th of December for £99 - Here

or

Brands Indy on Sunday 11th of December for £110 with Easytrack (my preference) - Link

I could be tempted by Brands. Not the best of circuits for the coop due to gearing (never in the right gear, you are between 2nd and 3rd all the time), but could be up for this date.

I've been to Donington 4 times this year so I'll be giving this one a miss. I just booked Oulton Park on the 2nd Dec for £75. Anyone else up for this

Focused Events. I got an extra 10% off that price as well as I've done 5 track days with them already this year.
Not done Oulton Park befor so that was the attraction to me as well as the price

I won't be there in any driving capacity - having been warned for noise during the sighting laps (107.9db vs permitted 98db)it takes the edge off it for me not being able to fully give it the beans frown

Might come and watch if there's a few going

That's a great price, I had a very enjoyable day at Oulton back in August. Tempting.

Dave, what are you hoping to achieve with your email to easytrack re Brands confused

Just swap that ridiculous exhaust system of yours for a nice 2.5" longlife one. Doesn't hinder performance on most non forged coops!

I registered 98.3 db on the day, and that was on full chat. And still sounds love

I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous answer laugh

At the moment I enjoy the sound of my exhaust and as i'm not really a trackday hero, nor intend to become one, it seems an unnecessary expense to alter something I like crazy

Re: Who's up for more? Donny Sat 26th Nov £125 - 17/11/2011 15:05

Fair play Steve.

I'm just suggesting a track day exhaust might be a worthy investment if you intended to try any more track days? As you said, the cheap £105 price for the day isn't good value for just 3 laps!

Re: Who's up for more? Donny Sat 26th Nov £125 - 17/11/2011 15:15

Well i did manage about 12 laps or so, but only by coming off throttle in specific places. My next trackday is Spa so no noise issues there love

Focused events have got some really good prices on their website at the moment, i guess the unpredictable weather takes its toll on the bookings.

If i could guarentee my car to be ready i would book this, and ive always wanted to do Oulton too.

Chav.
Bloody destroys me everytime i drive that car.I think its just straight out the manifold from the sounds of it.

Im not impressed at all with Focused events.
The marshaling is non existent.
Bad driving and the blue flags are ignored.
Plus way too many cars are allowed out at once.

I would rather pay a bit more and enjoy not having to look out for M1 traffic.

Re: Who's up for more? Donny Sat 26th Nov £125 - 18/11/2011 09:25

I'll not be making any more track days til Feb/ March next year.

I had a great day at Donny, and be up for doing more now ... but I *really* need a trailer.

The drive home in the dark down 10 miles of B-road with the headlights giving out the equivalent of 1/2 a candle each wasn't much fun!

Re: Who's up for more? Donny Sat 26th Nov £125 - 18/11/2011 12:21

1/2 a candle each. Thats an upgrade from a coupe wink

Re: Who's up for more? Donny Sat 26th Nov £125 - 18/11/2011 16:25

I might have to look at what can be done, Marco. I was having to do less than 30mph on the B road home, as I simply couldn't see enough!

The problem is that both the headlights and sidelights are all in the same 4 inch headlamp.

I think there have been some solutions though smile
