It sounds very similar to the Action Sports days at Castle Combe that Fullpint on here arranges a club stand for the Cinqo rebels (sp?). I've always been surprised this doesn't get a better turn out. £30 a session for 20 mins on track at Combe. Like this event, it gives anyone who's ever wanted to take their car on track and ideal opportunity in a relaxed environment. And it's a far more affordable option, no need for track tyres and helmets etc!

Non competitive and relaxed, unlike us crazy so and so's on a typical track day evil

Roll up roll up.

Although you shouldnt need one now you have fixed your brakes after 10 years laugh

Bring plenty of spare fluids and make sure you use a good brake fluid I.e castrol SRF as the brakes take a pounding at Mallory.

Yes it does, rain fog or snow they will let you out.

Dont be late though or you cant get on the track as you have to enter the track to get onto the infield.

If your late the gates dont open until 1pm.

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 18:36

A great day was had smile I did 3 sessions - 1st session was very tentative ( track virgin remember and it was wet) but by the 3rd I was much better and more committed smile
Nearly spun on "Gerrards corner" in the 2nd session though , only my incredible reflexes saved the day smile

My car drove and survived absolutely fine which was a bonus.

Wasn't the same good news for JBT - misfire and ninja - boost hose issues frown
I'm sure they will be along soon to explain.

I went for a passenger ride in Shaun's (crazylegs) monster - fantastic driving and even better coop. Absolutely nothing overtook us - impressive stuff ! Thanks again for the ride Shaun and showing me how's it is done smile

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 21:20

Now now john i let you go past as you was past your driving ability. yes

Then to top it off i had lag out of the hair pin cry which made you pull away but due to my talent i was able to catch you up on the bends and braking to the point your car was nearly stuck on my front tow hook but jet same again lag out of hair did the same. cry

For around 6 laps of hard fast close driving in bad traffic it was brill next time the door wont be open slap head lol. evil

Apart from the above brill day and me and john did some serious fast cars sorted for the track ie 550bhp 4x4 fiesta cosworth caged etc
Not one car came past me and john all day which was very very nice and we drove the coupes home again.
what more can you ask from a car coffee

Sean c it was nice to see you again and nice of you to be passenger. Nice control by the way looked good in my rear veiw mirror. driving

ninja nice to see you and your bravo get it stripped and caged up it will be a spot on track tool. thumb

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 21:34

Just to remind you john your misfire happened after the dual. ooo
To add you ran your coupe that low on feul ( less weight ) you ran out, were i had a full tank and still glue to your bumper. loser
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 21:43

Crazylegs,1 car did come past you as that was mine. You didnt let me past i might add ooo
And i always drive beyond my abilities.I go for the aggression look.
Didnt want to embarrass you too much as i built your car rolleyes
If im honest you took the best line thumb ,but i took the dry one.
Your 2.0 was well planted in the wet conditions,i was terrified all day by the wheelspin and general scruffy sliding involved in trying to keep the animal straight.

I only have 450mins left to download the evidence laugh .

Was nice taking out the Redland Cossie which did me at Donny last year.A stripped out nitrous car on racefuel and running serious power.
3 a breast down the main straight with that race TVR was the highlight with non of us backing down.
They voiced there admirations of my driving by waving there fists up and down grr

Also managed to do the Imp that cleaned up around Mallory last year.
Sailing past the French cars of the Spoox team was also a highlight as there all running 400bhp+ in a much lighter/agile setup.
Well happy with the results on a circuit that really doesnt suit the coupes.
Saw a massive advantage of the 2.5 over the 2.0 and it managed to hold its own against the field even on the twisties.

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 22:00

Well john the evidence is i am a gentleman and i will aways hold the door open for ladys and old people like your self lol. angel

There was some serious moneys worth of cars and they were running better set ups for the track with more power to weigth ratio, but they were amazed by the coupe in its nice sleeper form haha. rofl

A great day thank you all who help with the day and to every one who made my day great thank you. thumb

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 22:03

Women dont like gentlemen mate, thats why your mrs likes me so much laugh (Ouch!!!!!!!)

Seriously though, was a great day that i thoroughly enjoyed.
Both of us carving up the traffic like we had stolen the cars isnt how i like driving but in typical Mallory fashion there was poor driving from a track that was way overcrowded despite the promise that the sessions were limited to 20 cars..

Very enjoyable but i wont be doing it again unless they limit the numbers as i nearly binned mine a few times.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: PPC in the Park - Mallory Park 19th May - 20/05/2012 22:10

Haha i like it, but your misses does like me and thats no joke lol. bow

It was well to busy thats why you have to be well help your self. To many cars and no one used there mirrors. lick

The numbers need to capped as there was best part off 25++ cars at one time some times you were pushed to 3 a breast down the pit straight but good fun shocked

oh just to add i was running 1.3 bar and you was running 1.6 bar so whats that power difference then monk??

Any way i know your hurting and i under stand but it must hurt more if you are running more power than us and get beat in a straight line. No excuses realy (cossies etc).

I was behind the Bmw that was pushing Sean into Gerards and have got it all on film.
Looks epic.Great control Sean as it snatched violently.Brilliant driving.

Great day all round though, the Fiat Coupe flag was held high and proven to still be a serious competitor in the tuning scene.
Lets also not forget that we showed up in road cars on road tyres with a full interior.
Nothing added nothing taken away and cleaned up the field.
20 year since production and it still shows the potential.

Just a crappy hose clip issue, and it turns out i lost the inner sleeve too (which would explain why i couldnt tighten it back up fully the second time. oh well, live and learn.

Thanks all for a great day, and thanks john for the passenger ride, yours and shauns cars are both in a different league (so stop squabbling like children teacher ).

Ahh, not me I'm afraid - I wish! Just saw the vid posted on the Cebera forum on pistonheads. When I said 'one from the cebera' I meant in relation to an earlier post where someone had mentioned the car. I can see why that was misleading!

A few TVR's are having LS3 engines fitted at the moment. My car's got the original Speed Six engine in it which I love, but I suppose one day I'd like to change it for a 7L V8 - just no way I could afford it at the moment!
