Snetterton is a favourite of mine, just a hell of a treck over from the west country. Usually stop in Norwich the night before with a mate.

Maybe if you offer a halfway house for us westerners, we'll set a date? smile chinny

Mike, I got £200 voucher to spend with clubmsv and was thinking of doing novice day at Snatterton 300 soon, thou, I wouldn't mind open pit lane if you're up for it. Let me know and i will be more than to meet a fellow 16vt owner on a track laugh

Re: track days in east anglia - 09/07/2012 13:31

I was only thinking this recently, im only ten mins from snetterton and im toying with the idea. As for putting you all up i have a lovely one bedroom shed at the bottom of my garden smile
i looked on the website recently and theres a few taster sessions comming up in august. £25 for 3 20 min sessions from 5pm onwards, obviously not much use for you lads who have a treck to get down here but worth a look for locals to see if you fancy commiting to a whole day.

Re: track days in east anglia - 11/07/2012 10:09

I'd be interested in a full day OPL only, it's too far of a trek just for a couple of hours evening session.

I do enjoy Snetterton, especially with the new internal twisty addition. Remember being there last year for the first OPL day they did on it. Raining of course, and on virgin tarmac. Red flag central but was very enjoyable to drive, a good test of car and driver!

Wish I lived a little closer, I'm jealous!

Sorry to hijack but how does knockhill compare as a circuit to the ones you guys have available? Ive heard it doesn't suit the coupe due to no real fast sections?

Personally speaking I don't know Ross. I've never driven a track north of the border.

Conversely, I don't know too many north of the border who have much experience of tracks in England. Obviously Sparco being the exception!

I don't subscribe to the idea that tracks don't suit the coupe really, a well setup coupe, despite it's humble grand tourer origins, can mix it with machinery designed for track use out of the box in my experience. It's about the package as a whole rather than straight line speed on tracks smile. Obviously fast sections are a Coupes bread and butter, but Snetterton, mallory and Oulton are not particularly fast yet there are several coupes here that will be amongst the quickest things there.

Track day at Knockhill then chinny

I'm thinking about doing knockhill later in the year.

Not been on track - proper track virgin.
