Volvo RR Meet - 15/11/2011 15:08

A number of Volvos turned up at Marlin Motors for a RR meet in MK last Saturday. They have a MAHA dyno, same as the one down at Powerstation in Tewks.

One of the guys with an S40 T4 hit 370bhp at Powerstation a week ago and made 372bhp at Marlin, so very comparable results.

This is what my V70 T5 made:-

1st run

2nd run with 3mins gap from the 1st run

Not bad power and top speed for a 14 year old Volvo estate, but there's definitely more to come.

Hope to see a few of you Coupe owners at track days that I attend, as it was a good laugh with a few of you at Snetterton this time last year.

Good results mate,
Did tim ever sort the oil pressure issues you had at Snetterton?

I bet that picks its feet up!! smile
thing i don't get with dyno printouts is on you first run corrected power was 459 and 310 at the wheels....
then 2nd run made LESS corrected power yet an extra 17 bhp wheel power.... I don't get this, i'm sure someone will be along to explain?

Anyways great result bud... Can you post some picks of car and under the bonnet??

Hi JB, yes mate, different oil pump, doubled up on o-rings for the oil pick up pipe, new bearing set and a larger freer flowing oil cooler got there in the end.

Kept an eye on your thread too, very impressive!!!! Let me know if your ever down Snetterton again and I'll try and make it to watch your Coupe flying around.

It's to do with the drag losses on the Maha dyno, rather than adding a percentage, the drag is measured on the coast down. Drag loss is added to WHP and you have the engine power.

Thanks very much.

Will do mate, tbh I think Tims 850 T5 is quicker as it weighs much less than my lardy v70, but I'm working on that aspect. Plus he uses slicks on track, but I don't do to badly on Federal 595RS-R.
