No mention of coupes going. You may get there and see some that dont frequent the Forum,

Whats your Coupes spec?

A standard ish 20vt should waste your buddies if they're only stage 1.

Have fun!

standard turbo, flea remap before i baught the car,, pannel air filter , and i have just fitted a large front mount fitted with cable ties for the moment !! (just for testing purposes)

not sure weather to leave the large intercooler on or standard .......

one astra is stage 2 the other is 3.5 or 4 (310) bhp

should be good fun as long as i dont blow the coupe up!

Never done quarter mile, but definitely wanna have ago!! The horror stories put me off a little though, i.e Nigel's car left parts of his gearbox on the line iirc last time he did one?!
Cars not back on the road till April 1st though..... No jokes!! smile
How often are these open days at pod on??
Shakespeare race way is prob a better bet for me I think!?

Santa Pod are currently resurfacing the entire track - from the piccie I saw yesterday, I rather doubt it will be ready for the weekend and even if it is, it will be completely "green"

Re: santa pod - 19/03/2013 19:13

not the best!! managed to get one run down the strip when it decided to stop raining for 2 hours .

14.5 with seats and some luggage not too bad

only saw a few coupe's down there and mine didnt get much attention , probibly because it dont have a massive spoiler and a bumper thats been ripped of from a little bump!

going to go back again in the summer time (if we ever get one)

Tempted to head down to the Pod this Saturday (4th May) if this nice weather holds up.

Its been a very long time since I last went. Im hoping to beat my personal best of 15.1 seconds set in a Honda Prelude tongue

Anyone else planning on going?

Re: santa pod - 04/05/2013 19:47

Back from the Pod! Was a good day!.... but mainly for everyone else! My clutch let me down a bit today. It has been the Achilles heel of my setup for a while as its not quite man enough and to top it off it has started slipping quite badly when i launch the car. Today I couldn't launch the car at any revs over 2k and had to ensure the clutch had fully engaged before accelerating. Once engaged it to coped with the torque ok. As you can expect this is not ideal for drag racing. It bogged down every time.

My best time was 14.1 seconds which was not that bad I guess but I reckon I should be seeing mid to high 13's.

Watch this space for a "which clutch" thread in the tuning section! wink
