Re: north west meet - 16/01/2006 09:46

Weekends a must forme too.
Also get some idea for a location, maybe somewhere central for everyone with decent parking etc.
Don't know many locations round there myself as I'm over on Anglesey!

Posted By: Anonymous

Re: north west meet - 16/01/2006 21:03

Just a thought, if we post up were we are all coming from then maybe we can come up with a meeting place.
I'll start things off.

Probably be the furthest away too!!

Anglesey, North Wales.

Re: north west meet - 22/01/2006 22:27

I can do 4th Feb - I'm in Manchester, but anywhere near Chester is good (can pop in and see the folks )

RR day would be good - having a number of coupes on the rollers would make any results a bit more meaningful...

Anyone know of a good RR nr Chester then

Re: north west meet - 22/01/2006 22:54

I can also do the 4th, Chester sounds good as its only 10 miles away for me

Think that was at JJ's Garage,im pretty sure its gone now but im going that way later so ill take a look
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: north west meet - 23/01/2006 00:59

JJ'S unfortunately is now gone used to take my old cars there.

The only place i can think of near chester is WGT Auto Developments RX7 specialists in Northwich about 15 miles from Chester City Centre.

They have a Dynapack Chassis Dyno (direct to hubs) not been there myself but was thinking of taking mine there sometime.

My mate lives in the apartments opposite usually loads of RX7'S outside on a Saturday morning so you would probably have to book in advance.

According to their website power runs £50 with colour print out.

Posted By: Taffy20vt

Re: north west meet - 25/01/2006 06:59

Its 'Arrive and drive' on saturdays mate,it was £10 for a race(about 20 laps) not cheap and not the best track either really,Warrington is suppose to be much better, maybe one of the Warrington Lads/Ladies would get a price for us
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: north west meet - 25/01/2006 09:42

ha ha.....we're gonna have the best meet out of all of them on the forum! ha ha
Posted By: Taffy20vt

Re: north west meet - 25/01/2006 09:56

I think this is the one in warrington

Karting

If theres 10 of us its £20 each for an hour long race
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: north west meet - 25/01/2006 18:33

Hopefully should be able to come along, the mrs is having a weekend at her friends this weekend but next weekend should be ok.
She's also got friends in Warrington so if it was there I could drop her off and then go karting!!!
Sandycroft isn't too bad but then compared to around here anything indoor would be!!

Dave

Re: north west meet - 26/01/2006 18:48

Yeah it sounds cool to me, ill take my own helmet this time and see if i can find overalls as well

People with a bit more ballast tend to do better on the laps as well as they can cane it round the corners quicker but lighter people get better power up the slope to take them round the corner and slide it around as well so can be quite even but the lastr time i was there the top3 were heavier types..

truely a good track and will look good if a good few of us are parked out front with our steads

So shall we go karting or just meet up as we'll probably have to book karting as Warrington don't do "Just turn up karting" on weekends.
What do we all feel like doing
Dave

Re: north west meet - 27/01/2006 02:31

Someone really needs to ring karting tomorrow and get a quote and post up and we can then book it all. If they need a quote just quote my name and say 'i work for CPW and we had a big event not too long ago' and then ill take it from there when we get there, i just cant ring during the day as im on early shifts at the minute

list for what? who's coming or who fancies Karting.

I'm not really fussed about the Karting although I dont mind if thats whats favourite.

I've been looking out for otherthings we could do and not found any up to now. We could driveto Delamere Forest .....butthen what, we could drive into Wales, we could drivethrough Liverpool and the tunnels to the Wirral..... but then what?

So if it's a list of who's coming and doesnt mind karting it's

Re: north west meet - 27/01/2006 19:00

Just thought I'd get something moving as it's not far away now and if we wanted to go karting I thought we might have to book.
If people don't fancy going karting them I'm ok with that, just want to have a good meet and put some faces to the names!!
I don't know the area up there very well so if anyone has any ideas post away.
I'm also trying to arrange a rolling road day for late feb/early march, I've spoken to a guy in Prestatyn but if that is a bit far away for most then maybe we could find somewhere else.
I've put up a post in Rolling Roads/RWYB.
Let me know what you think.

Well I'm ok for the meet. (New front tyres on my new front wheels Friday) I don't mind goin to the karting if that's what everyone wants to do but probably wont bother taking part myself, just goof around and take some pics.

Or maybe me, Joe's dad and H's mum can go to bingo or summat

We've not really come up with anything else to do if we don't go karting and we need to decide somewhere to meet )

Lets have a quick list

Karting................Not Karting..............What else.

Doesn't somewhere do clay pigeon shooting in Cheshire just a thought

Re: north west meet - 01/02/2006 01:18

Been thinking about this, don't have much now I'm back in work to come on here.
Another thing of thought does anywhere do lazer quest or something.
Dave
Posted By: Taffy20vt

Re: north west meet - 01/02/2006 01:36

Theres a lazer Quest in Chester, theres also a Multi storey car park next door so no problems with parking. As for the Karting im not fussed either way, although the Karting will only last for a couple of hours so we would have to think of something else to do aswell (Unless you older folk need to go home for a rest )
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: north west meet - 01/02/2006 03:57

Hey Taffy your part of that club as well so

And there is a Lazer Quest in Wazza as well but im sure these are things you still need to book in advance.

I'm off tomorrow so if we did need to arrange something I could do it tomorrow but that is if everyone comes on the forum.
Let's see how many people see this tonight and if not I will PM everyone on the list tomorrow.

Suggested Meet Point - 01/02/2006 07:59

Well if poeople are coming from wales and such like we can meet at Mascrat Manor. They are just off Junction 21 of the M6.

From the south turn off the M6 and take the 3rd exit on the roundabout at the end of the slip road. follow the road over the bridge and take the 1st exit. THIS IS BEFORE THE SLIP ROAD TO THE MOTORWAY!!! and then a little down the road, say about 10yards turn right and meet in there.

Just to throw another spanner in the confused works.
What time shall we all meet up. If KP has to leave at dinnertimeish shall we make it 10 or 11. I don't mind to be honest what time.

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 02/02/2006 07:05

Well I'd say Daves plan seems ok up to now.

Meet at the place Kingpleb says at 11.00. Look at cars etc then have pub lunch 2-4-1 and me and Craigs coming as a couple so that'll save a few bob. <eek> he's not old enough to drink so that'll save a bit more We can discuss whats next whilst we're doing all that.

Unless anyone has a different idea

list of names up to now then:

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 05/02/2006 05:22

Shame about Mavs car but i did have to laugh after the police had spoken to us. Me and Craig were walking back to the car and this police officer is saying "right, were gooing to pull off the hard shoulder and make a gap for you to follow us safely onto the motorway"

Halfway through this sentence Taffy goes flying past giving it loads. Sounded nice Taffy but you should change out of second before hitting 70 Then as said officer is safely pulling onto motorway coupdave flies past him too

Cool meet Nice to have met you all, shame about the fccuck up but I'm sure Mavric will have it right in no time.

coupdave, thanks again for the loan of those tools din't get time to say goodbye properly due to the constabulary, but it was really good of you to dring them. i'll schedule another fight with my sump plug in the near future

Whoops, missed the conversation with our boys in blue, never mind he was just getting in my way as I tried to build up my speed to the same as the traffic we were joining!!!
He was going very slowly!!!
Don't worry about the tools I'll be in no rush for them as I've got others.
Our computer won't load up my pics at the moment but as soon as it does I'll put them up.
Great meet and we'll have to have another one soon.
Rolling road session at Peco Craig? Another good chance for a meet.
Gutted for Mav about his car hope he got home OK.

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 05/02/2006 17:58

Was thinking around the second weekend in march as rebelmc can't make the first.
I've put it up under rolling roads, or should I say under the thread I started a couple of weeks ago.
There are 5 names down so far but no doubt there will be quite a few more as Birkenhead is more central for people to gett too.

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 05/02/2006 20:30

Great pics chaps/chappess, looks like I missed a good one. Don't fancy arseing about on the hard shoulder though
Mav is yet to post, probably drowining his sorrows with a pint of Silkolene Pro
Oh, Plebbers, I like the custom bonnet strut there's all this chat of the modified car scene becoming a bit chav and samey, then you break out with these unique and special touches that keep the scene alive, innit.

Busa - Hope it wasn't too cliquey for you and more work on that engine bay please, I hope Taffy had a quiet word
CoupeDave's (engine) was once filthy but by the looks of the pics you could theoretically eat your sunday dinner off of it, although the peas rolled off last time I tried it.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 05/02/2006 20:49

The engine is still a long way off needs sanding and more polishing!!
The pictures DO it justice!!!!
Unfortunately Taff couldn't show us his engine as he'd used his immense strength to brake the bonnet release handle!!
Hope you get it sorted Taff, need to check that there oil !!!!
Still trying to get my pics up but I think my PC is sulking!
Dave

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 05/02/2006 21:00

Ha ha so Taffy couldn't show anyone his immaculate engine? That'll teach him the engine bay slag! He always gets it out, strangers, kids, he just wangs it out there and then.

Just kidding Taff, nothing wrong with a bit of engine bay vanity

PS is that hammerite you used on the rocker cover?

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 06/02/2006 01:28

Posted By: came2dance

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 06/02/2006 01:55

It was quite good, it always is to see the other coops and meet the oewners but yip we stay in the car park then we had lunch in the pub and were heading off for Dellamere Forrest when disaster struck
Posted By: pinin_prestatyn

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 06/02/2006 02:09

Taffy, the Zender grille looks good, I'd keep it.
Posted By: came2dance

Re: Suggested Meet Point - 06/02/2006 02:55

I'd keep the zender on too taffy. Or sell it to me for a tenner and take my grill in pt ex

For the next meet what if we meet in the same place 'muskrat manor' say 10.30 - 11.00 kick tyres for half an hour then scoot off to Delamere Forrest. Can work out a route without m ways if you fancy some twisties.

At delamere there are some nice pubs to do dinner there and there is a nice cafe does full meals and snacks and a visitor centre.
Can go for walks in the forrest or hire mountain bikes!

About two miles before Delamere is Lady Janes. A large arts and crafts centre with all kinds of shops plus second hand and antique shops, plus a nice restraunt that only seats about 2 dozen. Bob Carolagees (sp) has a candle shop there. Remember him - spit the dog off tizwaz funny to see him serving behind the counter Peeps can then make their own way home from there at whatever time suits them. Just a thought
