Cardiff - Italian passion for speed, June 9th - 06/04/2019 09:53

Hoping to go again this year, thought last year was really good with 4 coupes, amazing weather and loads of visitors.

It's Sunday June 9th, Cardiff Bay, £10 entry fee.

If we can get a few of us together like last year for convoy from the services would be great.

I've paid my tenner and emailed my details to the organisers, hopefully there'll be more than just me representing the coupe world, it might be a lonely day.

Don't think it'll be as busy with spectators this year due to not having the Volvo yachts in town. Should make for an easier day, able to grab a quiet bite to eat etc.

Yay, awesome Toby. Promise I'll be more sociable than usual this time! Last year we met at junction 29 (I think) services, let's wait to see if anyone else is coming then decide on meeting spot. Whereabouts are you again, I'm in North Cardiff, so pretty much anywhere is accessible for me.

I'm near Llantrisant mate. So anywhere is fine.

The last date for entries has passed, I guess it's just us then gripped! Joe has also got an entry but not sure if he can make it. I'm in danescourt, so not far from llantrisant, can meet up wherever you'd like, if Joe's coming we'll then take a mini convoy to meet up with him too

I wish I could do this, but no chance at the moment, mine's still in bits.
Have a good one, hope the weather stays dry for you.

Details on Sundays event.

Italian Passion for Speed set to return this year

One of Britain’s newest Italian car events has grown into one of the biggest events in 2019 and this time it'll last all weekend

Where: Cardiff Bay

When: 9 June 2019

More at: www.italianpassionforspeed.co.uk

This year's Italian Passion for Speed will be the fourth running of the Cardiff-based event, and for 2019 it has grown into a spectacular two-day fixture. This is possible thanks to the formation of two new partnerships: the Dreams and Wishes charity (www.dreamsandwishescharity.org) and the World X Series Rally team (www.worldxseriesrally.com).

World X Series Rally, which organises supercar events across the globe, is staging a cross-country run of seriously desirable cars from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, via the Morgan factory in Malvern (Worcestershire) and then over the Brecon Beacons, right into the heart of Cardiff Bay, arriving on Saturday 8 June. On arrival there will be live music and a fashion show held in the main arena. The Welsh Guards, Miss Wales and other high-profile personalities will be on hand to greet the drivers as they enter the arena.

On the following day a larger event takes place in the same location. Starting at 7.30am and lasting until 4pm, this event will welcome all Italian performance machines – cars and motorcycles. Previous events have seen a wide array of Abarths, Maseratis, Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Ducati and Aprilia bikes usually dominate the motorcycle display, with strong support from Moto Morini and Moto Guzzi.

Paul Talbot, the event's founder, said: "Last year we had around 30,000 visitors to the event, including an impromptu visit from the King of Sweden. With the new partnership with World X Series Rally, we can count on giving entrants and visitors an even more dramatic spectacle when they arrive".

Conrad Wall, organiser of the World X Series Rally events, said: "This is the first time we’ve partnered with the Italian Passion for Speed team and the second time we've collaborated with Dreams and Wishes, and already we're excited with the opportunities this joint event will provide for our owner/drivers and the vast number of spectators who are likely to visit over the course of both days".

Dreams and wishes is dedicated to making the dreams of seriously ill children and their families come true in the UK. Over the course of both days, this organisation will play a central part in all activities within the display area, including photoshoots and on-site entertainment. Wendy Hobbs, ambassador for the charity, said: "We are excited to welcome all Italian supercar owners to the Bay area. Having the Welsh Guards and the newly crowned Miss Wales there will make the day even more special for the children".

· The event is open to all performance Italian cars and motorcycles.

· Entry fees are £10 per vehicle.

· To enter go to www.italianpassionforspeed.co.uk or contact David Morris on 01743 232 651 or 07773 537 564.

Was quieter than last year with both cars and visitors, the lack of cars was a bit disappointing but fewer people was nice. Got to have a little wander around and the weather was decent.
