Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Midlands Meet - 29/01/2006 05:43

Right I have had a look at my map and come up with this

Meet at the Maze at Wing at around 10.30
Drive north to Manton then turn right on the A6003 to Empingham through Edith Weston and Normanton
Turn left onto the A505 to get to Whitwell and have a stop there for a chat etc then continue round to
Hambleton and have Lunch at the Finch at 12.30 to 1 ish
Drive off the penninsula to Egleton and depart our ways.
I am happy to organise the lunch bookings at the pub so if up for it post or pm with a date preference. either 12, 19 Feb or either
I can sort full routes for everyone nearer to the time. It is around 30 miles around some of Englands most beutiful country( and I'm from Yorkshire!)

Re: Midlands Meet - - 21/02/2006 17:18

registered on photobucket, uploaded some pictures and pasted the link - It was pretty simple really but I would like to be able to post individual pictures. It does look muddy and miserable there
Posted By: bezzer

Re: Midlands Meet - - 21/02/2006 17:48

You can show individual pictures rather than the whole album.

When you've uploaded the pictures to photobucket you click on the url of the individual picture and then using the URL option in the 'Instant UBB Code' section, paste the url in there, click ok and then put in what you want to call that picture i.e. piccie 1

piccie 1

piccie 2

Is that what you want to do ??

Re: Midlands Meet - - 22/02/2006 00:45

ill have to have a think about it. maybe something like meet at a park like wollaton park (free to get in just pay and display) should be good for taking photos. then when we have all met we could make our way to a nice pub for a pint. then go for a drive through some country roads? pull up somewhere after that for a chat and then depart?.

its just an idea?

or maybe a drive towards calverton thorsby way?.

or how about make a real day of it and have a drive to skeg?
lol

Calverton is the centre of civilization round here but Skeg does not sound too bad -- go with it Clay

Re: Midlands Meet - - 22/02/2006 19:43

If you want to make it a regular monthly thing wy not just pick a central pub location like a Brewers Fayre or something for the regular bit of it and then anyone wanting a drive round can go afterwards.

That way everyone knows they can just turn up at 2pm every 2nd Sunday at Telford Road Brewers Fayre (for example) wihout having to 'plan' it every month.

maybe we should do a small one first then save skegg for the summer? wot do you all think?

Re: Midlands Meet - - 22/02/2006 19:58

That makes a lot of sense Bobbs, All we need is to find somewhere central and no mud for Duc748!
Where would everyone come from? Just post locations and I will try to find somewhere central
Cheers

Brewers Fayre on the A426 just North of Rugby. Its 200 metres from J1 of the M6

Re: Midlands Meet - - 22/02/2006 20:29

Or there is one at Junction 7 and at Junction 8 of the A14. One is a Brewers Fayre and one is a Trading Post I think. Not sure of anymore reasonably central ones with easy access. You want to avoid city or town centre types and more difficult to get to etc.
