Warwick this SaturDay - 20+ Coupes !! - 21/10/2006 23:51

After the success of the Warwick meet -- (2 local papers interest and a catalogue shoot for Liquid )

I thought - what with Jack Frost on his way - and time running out for the 20vt's to keep the rubber on the road...

We could have another cracker of a day - a blast down the Fosse (Or another route to be suggested) - a nice pub lunch an exchange of dwarf pron ! and another spot of *dwarf tossing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwarf_tossing
(Not to be associated with the pron bit!)

*apologies to any anatomically challenged friends out there

And BEZZER you can still poodle along in your 106 !

Simple yeah or neah will do the trick and I will contact the a couple of hacks - pub managers - and these guys http://www.minbu.connectfree.co.uk/dwarf.htm

thanks

I might be interested but most FCCUKers think the midlands start at Milton Keynes and end at Rugby. Where is the suggested location for all this Dwarf Tossery? Shame my coop doesn't go to Rog's until Dec 1st (he's a very busy man!) but should be able to limp it along as long as it's not any further south than M1 Jct15.

Think I may come along, need to visit the folks in Kenilworth before Xmas (I am in Edinburgh) and a blast around Warwickshires windy and straight (Fosse Way) roads would be cool.
Be a bit cold to sit outside at the Saxon Mill!! but a good place to eat, although I never tried the food there it is recommened.
If anyone will be in Kenilworth in the evening I will probably be in the Royal Oak.

Thanks to Crash we have the route down - i will try to post it up asap....

The starting point is the Saxon Mill CV34 5YN - meeting at 12 noon....

Saturday - Sun
Sunday - Heavy Rain!!!

i dont know the area at all and would be nice to have my coop back and meet some fellow coopers on the same day!!
also how long is the trip in total?? time and miles??

Re: Check it OuT ! - 17/11/2006 03:13

Motor mech is @ 15 miles away

Round trip for the meet is 45 miles ish
Depending on weather conditions and f we fancy stopping for pics and the like - 1-2 hour drive tops...

Dont forget - 2 pubs too...

One at the start and one at the end....it aint rigid and if you wanna arrive and go at any time you want - that aint a problem....

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 03:22

Good day out and about, nice to meet some new owners and see some old faces again. The route was great when we followed it
Didnt have a camera so looking forward to the rest of you posting yours up. Turned into more of a pub crawl due to unforseen circumstances so next time all bring a designated driver so we can have a good old swill.

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 13:07

Some nice pics and a nice day out.
I urge anyone who likes nice cars and spirited driving to check out the site that was emblazened all over my car
Will have to ask for a password to enter the site, an unfortunate precaution, but it is worth it. Check out the FB Forum for great pics and stories of the FB5K event
Thought half the drivers scarpered fast after looking at the menu, not into posh grub like us midlanders are used to (yeah right )

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 16:27

I enjoyed the route so much, I might just drive the circuit again this lunchtime.

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 17:38

It was a good day Alison, apart for the Sat-Nav equipped stragglers who got lost (only joking guys)

I reckon another run like this sooner rather than later would be cool

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 17:46

Shame we missed it!

We went to a farm in Matlock for the boys yesterday and used the sat nav.. lets just say it took us down some very interesting roads!!
Got my nice clean Alfa all dirty
But mum had the boys in the evening so we could go out
Went to see Casino Royale!! If you havn't seen it yet you gotta go

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 18:39

Great day Boys and Girls. A big thanks to CJ for organising. My own highlight was seeing Johh's bravo completely air-borne in my rear view mirror! Don't forget the South Yorks meet if you Midlanders can make it that far north.

Its a shame i couldnt see what you saw brewster. With the sun in my eyes i didnt notice the bump until the last minute,i hope i havent 50p,d my new jap lightweight 17s,i know i scuffed the front bumper again doing that, but hey it was well worth it.And yes i am well up for the yorkshire meet, hopefully i will see you there with my car finished, not cutting out and roling road tuned.

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 21:55

it was a good day where i met a some friendly people. but ill make sure i definatly come in my own car next time. it was really frustrating being a passenger. oh and i was impressed with johnny bravos motor, very nice.

Re: Check it OuT ! - 19/11/2006 22:21

Yesterday was brilliant! Really enjoyed the route and the windmill, then had a great blast back to leicester with Jonnybravo and Dan!

More than anything though i'm impressed with my 16vt keeping up with the bigger boys................ although i was fitting my Halfords 50% brighter bulbs this afternoon when i spotted a rogue dipstick lying across the top of my engine bay Looks like the guys at FAST forgot to put it back in after my last service!! Anyway i have posted about it in Technical help section!

Thanks CJ for getting the meet organised and can't wait for the next one!

Photos to follow.........
