Also, I'm trying to get some tickets to Scotland v England at Murrayfield on the 25th, I *might* be able to get 4 of them so does anyone want a ticket (will have 2 spare). No idea how much they'll be though.

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 03/02/2006 16:48

OKa, we have rented a flat for a few nights so we will be in Edinburgh Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights.

Our only fixed plans are the rugby, whether in the stadium or in a pub has not yet been determined.

Anyone from round here want to meet up either for the rugby or saturday night or sunday daytime?

Feel free to suggest stuff

The flat also has a lounge so anyone needing a place to sleep can borrow the floor

Bobbs where is the flat situated? Might go to the rugby as it is. We will just be back from our honeymoon at the start of the week but we are having the rest of the week off so i reckon we could probably be up for something? Dubai in case you were curious and this saturday. Shit not long now!

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 09/02/2006 15:33

I've been called a lot worse but afraid not, Paul sent them to me after i sent mine.

Just remember to bring some kleenex as you'll need them after the rugby as the mighty Scots turn over yet another giant.

Yes i know i might live to regret that statement but god favours the brave.(or is that stupid?)

hey it's not a porto mini-meet now. i know i had one but i don't anymore.

I reckon the more the merrier just incase the jammy english do sneak a win, that way the gloating will be minimal.

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 09/02/2006 22:00

Looks like we may have actually got tickets to go to the game. More than happy to meet people afterwards but will be in England shirt and rather drunk
Alternatively, Friday night or Sunday night we'll be around.

There is a great Indian with a pub next door where you can buy a jug of beer to have with your meal. The pub has a mini cinema with beds to lounge on for that relaxed drinking experience. Its "up the bridges" around Nicholson St area as I recall. Excellent spot. Cant remember the name though.

See a map here. http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&hs...;near=Edinburgh,+UK&sa=X&oi=localr

Okay so what the plan here Edinburgh folks?

We will be there some point Friday, driving up during the day. On the Saturday we will be occupied during the game itself but will be out on the piss before and after

When do you want to meet up? Friday night? Saturday day/night? Both? All? Neither?

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 25/02/2006 00:36

Well, here we are after a long but mostly pleasant drive. Decided to cut off the M6 at Carlisle and follow the A7 all the way to Edinburgh. Then got rather lost in the city so the 5 hour journey became nearer to 7, didn't help that they gave us the wrong address. Wish I could have found my satnav before we left! First visit after finding the flat was the pub next door for a couple of well-earned beers. A suprising number of Scots seem to already be hammered, must be something in the water

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 25/02/2006 00:58

More importantly, how many coupes did you see on your travels?

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 25/02/2006 04:21

None. Saw a few Fezzas, a few Integrales, plenty of japstuff, tons of porkers etc., but no coops.

Re: Edinburgh area - 25/26 February 2006 - 25/02/2006 21:23

Now in an internet cafe/coffee bar near Murrayfield. Bought a pack of Maltesers so they'd let us use their toilets. Then we managed to barter use of their internet plus seating and bringing in our own beers in exchange for a cup of coffee
Bring on the game

Hello guys, well it was good to meet you both. Sorry Matt, you too. All i can say is it was a momentous day and even if i am a lightweight who cares. I hope the rest of your Scottish trip goes well.

As usual not to many people made the effort but then that is normal these days.
