Last year (end of June) there was a particularly good Midland meet at Star City, and having enjoyed the recent Warwickshire meet I thought I'd get this started and get some dates on paper (so to speak). I'm not sure who organised that one, may have been MC_Mike.

Firstly Saturday or Sunday ?

It was a Sunday last year, nice empty car park but an early Saturday start may be just as good.

Dates - My suggestions are:

June 17th/18th
June 24th/25th
July 1st/2nd

I'm hoping Mike will be able to come along and take us back to the nice pub we ended up in last time

I will not be organising the drive on this one

I came down last year en route to Wimbledon. Decent people, decent turnout and a good blat before retiring to that cracking pub to take in the rays.

I'll be coming down on the Sunday again this year (June 25) and would be interested in meeting you Midlands boys again if it's on that date.

I fully understand if it isn't as the date may not be ideal for the others - but will keep an eye on this thread .

Sounds good - I was disappointed that I couldn't make the recent Kenilworth meet after all.

June 17th / 18th would be good for me....a blat round and a stop at the Cock Inn would be great

I am happy to plan some kind of route, either fast A / B roads or a trundle through the tunnels in Brum.

Could do that after lunch perhaps ?

looks good. the corresponding meet last year was my first in my coop, enjoyed it immensely and look forward to seeing a few new and old faces (no offence, paul!)

I'm a possible for any of those dates.
Might have trouble keeping up on the drive, but if you have to stop to find where you are again it'll be less of a problem!

Yes there was a bit of a split in the camp on the drive to the pub last year

I should be ok for this as I am not travelling in June and I will be freshly kitted out with my GT28RS (no lag), evo front mount intercooler, lightened flywheel and new clutch all going well with Barbz doing it on the 8th of may. Yee ha! Might even refurb my wheels by then as well.

I'll give this thread another couple of days and then post up the preferred date(s).

There doesn't seem to be objections from my original suggestions so it'll be one of those

And I think we'll do Sunday unless anyone comes up with a reason why saturday would be better

Ok we've had this on the go for a bit now so time to make that all important decision.

I propose we have it on Sunday 25th June. (The 18th is Fathers Day).

Car Park at Star City

Time 10:30.

Then a drive upto the Cock Inn for a Pint and a Sarnie followed by some Tunnels in Brum.

As I said before, I'm only doing this bit, I'll leave the driving directions to someone else. MCMike has kindly offered to do a route and CJ will weave his magic with the press

Due to a huge change in my personal circumstances I won't be able to carry on with organising this and won't be able to attend either.

Hopefully someone can takeover the planning and make sure the meet goes ahead.

OK, so how about a meet up at 11.00am in Starcity car park (hopefully that time suits Wackers and ajg) an then at about 11.30 or 12 a blast upto the Cock in at Wishaw (the most excellent put we went to last year).

I know the way from Starcity to the pub and would be happy to lead. Any latecomers could just meet us at the pub.

If anyone is interested I will bring our new ECU scanner along (£4k worth) , where possible I will read codes, clear codes, turn off warning lamps and give advice on any future repairs. I will not have any other tools or parts with me, only my 7 year old daughter so on the spot repairs will not be possible. Please let me know if it is worth bringing the scanner along.

Good to see some old and new faces. Thanks for the health check Paul, cant believe your new toy didnt pick up the cracked alternator housing as it seems to check everything else. Still want to know how it could tell the ashtray needed emptying though.
Weather was kind to us and the drive in convoy to the pub was pretty cool (some tunnels next time please). Shame some couldnt make it, but hopefully next time round. Allan had a great time as well, just as well Josh came or else it could have been hard work.
