Re: North Wales Pistonheads meet 8 JAN - 01/01/2006 04:15

No we won't shout - just release your handbrake when we are at the top of the horshoe pass and watch you roll down. That'll teach ya

I'm not going to the fccuk xmas do anyway so it makes no difference to me.

Probably in the right place or correction, you would get there OK but wouldn't have a chance of getting back without a fuel tanker!!
Will let you know tomorrow as I will be owed a lieu day for working tomorrow.

Pinin - I am hopefully going straight from work so can meet you in St Asaph if you are going A55 way.

Haven't got the link from the last one but found this, it's really easy to find from Llangollen anyway.

Sammi - Get your brother out in his Tuscan otherwise just take the keys and drive it behind H's beast. That's if the 6 pot makes it without needing a rebuild, it's quite a journey

No probs Matt, same here if I don't use it on my dinner have to be crafty and use the upstairs work computer.
PM me your number as I think it's Kirsty's that I've got.
Looks like there might be a few coming from the Kroozing/NWMCC websites too. R-34 Skyline GTR, Magazine featured Focus with RS conversion etc.
Looks like it should be a good turnout.

Re: North Wales Pistonheads meet 8 JAN - 03/01/2006 23:49

Yes I think it's because I posted up the link on there before on the engine polishing thread. Oh well at least it's some decent machinery and not a load of 1.2 Clio's with more speakers than Brake horsepower
Anyone up for a little drive afterwards? some lovely scenery and just itching for a coupe convoy!!

What are you boys superior wimps or sumfin!!

Jeez the snow in the peaks was ace stuff, just light and just freezing as well and showed the ABS does still work!!

C2D still has a pic of our coops all lined up in the pub carpark

Snow will make for better pictures and better formation driving for the brave soul taking them

Ill bring me pici phone along and see about the digicam as well

I don't get it KP, it has the addy on the link earlier, can't you use the Postcode to find it?
Anyway Will it's really easy to find. Just do a routemap from where you are to llangollen, it's about 5 mins away and I'm sure it's signposted too.

Re: North Wales Pistonheads meet 8 JAN - 04/01/2006 08:28

Yes, there are signs from Llangollen to the Horseshoe pass. Or just get a map out, it's the bit of road that looks (vaguely) like a horseshoe.

Weather is getting really ropey now - the snow is settling around here - its gonna be worse on the pass tommorrow !
Who makes the decision wether it still goes ahead or not?
Posted By: pinin_prestatyn

Re: North Wales Pistonheads meet 8 JAN - 08/01/2006 02:00

Basically, it goes ahead no matter what! It was forecast snow etc last meet but the guy that organises them (Simon Cotton) said it goes ahead unless it's really bad.

Anyway I've just checked BBC weather for llangollen, it's +4c so there won't be that much snow. I wouldn't worry about it Marcus

Where are we meeting? I'll take the A55 route and meet you at a junction, you name which one. Either that or you can meet me and taffy and Dave (if he comes) at the oakstead garage at half eleven. Up to you

As the others said, it's not cliquey, it's just that there are relatively few North Wales owners, compared to say Midlands owner (the only other mini-meet I've been on). As a result, we all know each other a bit better. It'd be good to see you there if you change you mind Busa.
And it's be good to see Mavric there too.
And everyone else too (except that pinin fella - he seems a bit wierd)

Everyone was friendly (yet to meet a coop owner I disliked!) and I enjoyed it.

I only took 8 pics I left the picture taking to Messiah Taffy, who will no doubt post them up as soon as he figs out how to work his camera

An excellent turn out of coops and good to see Mavric's beasty! Even if it did have an interesting starter motor to get home!
Only joking Mav awesome car!! Plus you're bigger than me! As are most!
Speak to all soon.

The auxilliary belt has gone, so I have no alternator or power steering. It hasn't taken the cambelt with it thank goodness! The last 10 miles home was courtesy of the RAC, and I'm sure iceberg will sort it our no problems.

I can picture H like Basil Fawlty hitting his red car with a stick.
I just hope that fitting your old LE skirts on my coop won't transfer the luck!!!
Was relieved when we spoke and you had got home OK.
At least you got further than the guy with the Corvette and the guy with the Merc. They must be cold by now if they didn't find the keys!! Don't think the Ponderosa do B&B.
Let us know how you get on tomorrow H.
Hope your coop gets well soon, again and stays well.

Re: North Wales Pistonheads meet 8 JAN - 09/01/2006 05:13

A recovery truck turned up as we were leaving for the corvette guy.

Yes the sledge would have been fun.... maybe next time

I am glad i wasnt the one with Hs keys.... with my luck then I think we could have been joining the merc guy looking for keys

Anyway, cant wait for the next one.... would make a nice change for it not to be blooming freezing!!!

busa1300 - yes you were a bit off - but you are forgiven

Make sure you make the next one - as well as the coops there was some fine machinery there.

Just like to say thanks to H and Sammiboo for the save with the jump leads, it turns out that my alternator is fbar. I only got about 5 miles before the car died, so out came Mr RAC with a fresh battery and I managed to get home for half five in the end.

Nice to see every one, it’s a shame no one would talk to me as they were so clicky.

Only kidding great bunch of people great day even with the broken alternator.
