Posted By: Kelv27

Scottish Italian Car Day, Craigtoun Park, 30th May - 05/04/2010 12:59

In addition to the Hopetoun House meet in August, theres the Scottish Italian Car Day in Craigtoun Park in St. Andrews.

From the information I can find on the web, it is held on the 30th of May this year.

Description on Fifedirect website:
Quote:
The event is all about Italian cars and is a relaxed and informal way for Italian car enthusiasts to get together and discuss their passion. Cars on show will include Ferrari, Lancio, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lamborghini and Fiat.
2010 is the Centenary celebrations of Alfa Romeo, so expect something special!

Whose up for it? smile

CONVOY TO ST. ANDREWS
The meeting point will be at McDonalds, Builyeon Road South Queensferry, West Lothian, EH30 9YJ.

Please be there for 9.30 A.M.

UPDATE TO THOSE ATTENDING
We are required to display something on our windscreen to indicate to the event marshalls on which club we belong to. Could those attending please print and display the following please:

Kindly let me know by PM if this would be a problem.

I thought the Hopetoun House meet was replacing the usual SICD at Fife crazy . No matter,it's always good to get along to an Italian car gathering cool .

Should be able to make this one again thumb .

No the Hopetoun House meet doesn't replace the Craigtoun one. St.Andrews Italian car day is organised by Alfa Romeo Owners Club as far as i'm aware.

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day, Craigtoun Park, 30th May - 25/04/2010 21:35

I've just been informed by Jackie of AROC (organisers of this event) that we should have some sort of note on our windscreen indicating which club we are with so that the right directions can be given at the gate. Without this note, we would be diverted to the general parking area.

I'll get something organised and post it here for everyone to print. Is that ok with you guys?

Yes Jackie is fully aware of what happened last year with the fiat forum folks...hence the implementation of notices on the windshield.

Ronster, I've just tried putting you with the maserati owners club in their new online check-in thingie..unfortunately your application came back with, 'Computer says NO'.

Would a scruffy coupe (although it is in the best colour laugh ) be ok or do you want me to try and park next to the Alfas to, er, blend in?

You might as well. We had a good turnout last year but the only banner we had was only visible in the grass, after the show!! wink

Can be have a bbq? laugh

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day, Craigtoun Park, 30th May - 05/05/2010 15:20

No don't have a banner Matt so if you could pass to Fran, that would be great.

Have not used the gazebo since getting it from the club...cause its a real pig to carry! Weighs a ton and doesn't quite fit in the coupe. It'll fit..just..if I use the ski hatch though.

BBQ..yes please laugh

Right i guess we better start discussions on our convoy plans. As per the year before, we meet at South Queensferry.. Mcdonalds?

However, the Fiat Scotland gang are also there at about 9a.m so could be a little crowded? Not that we have anything against them (great guys them lot) but i just don't think there is enough car park spaces? Does anyone have suggestions for another meeting point?

Well I hope the weather is good to you. It's an absolutely cracking day out here in the middle of the North Sea. Not a ripple of a wave or a breath of wind.

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day, Craigtoun Park, 30th - 30/05/2010 21:06

Weather wasn't up to much, got better as the day went on though.

Nice to see you all again ( bunch of weirdos ) and some new faces smile

Steamer don't know if you noticed but your car seems a bit smoky , oh and one of your pipes blows of a bit which disables the car, apart from that everything is OK, well apart from the starter relay thing....and the hazard button, but apart from that its hokey dokey.

On the plus side your car looks tops cool

Does anyone have picture of Baz NOT eating wink

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day, Craigtoun Park, 30th - 31/05/2010 13:17

As usual I had a great time yesterday, the weather was a bit dreary to start with but it soon brightened up enough for the OCD crew to get out their polishing cloths laugh .

I think Sparky's Coupé impressed me the most with the Ferrari Grey wink coloured mirrors, grill and light pods. When the sun eventually came out they looked stunning when the light shone on them love .

Roll on the next meet at Hopetoun House, hopefully I'll have some of the jobs done on my Coupé for then rolleyes .

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day, Craigtoun Park, 30th - 31/05/2010 18:28

I have to agree with Baz's comments, Ronnies car definately won the day for me too. Looks love love mate.

Steamer, great to finally put a face to the name, hope you get the niggles with your car sorted out ok.

I think that having to turn up car-less has finally given me the motivation to get my a*$e into gear, so have spent the day working away at it. Seems to be one step forward, two back. Now I need to add new brake lines and a handbrake cable to my list grr , but I'm loving the lowered look.

It was good to catch up with a few of the old faces, and am now looking forward to the Hopetoun meet. I promise I'll try my best to have the car ready, but no promises guys. Seems I've got a mountain to climb and the list of jobs is still growing!! rolleyes

Cheers for the lovely comments lads, think I must have been in the best spot to take advantage of the light as there where plenty of lovely coupes there.

Paypal on the way wink

Was kinda losing interest in the coupe, it's amazing what a wee clean up does inside and out to change how you feel about the car.

Hopefully you'll get the car ready for hopetoun house Ian, you did kinda promise junior wink

I beg your pardon Sparky.. i must have got my colours mixed up. blush

When i saw it, I could have sworn it looked closer to the shade of ROVERGREY007 my distant cousin Harold Winston was telling me about.
