Piazza Italia - 10 Coupes Required

Hi there all,
Due to the resounding success of last years participation at this festival, we have been invited back to join in the large Italian event in Horsham this year The event is open to 10 show worthy cars (clean & tidy) to represent the Club and mark.

The Festival runs for 3 days the programme of evnts are as follows:

Good Friday 22nd (Ferrari and Ducati led Italian Motorbikes of all marques)

Starting from South Lodge Hotel, Lower Beeding and Denbies Vineyard, nr Dorking (Ferraris)

Starting from Motori di Marino, West Chiltington (Motor Bikes)

Easter Saturday (Mini) The Horsham Italian Job MINI run

Starting from Vines Gatwick MINI, Three Bridges, Crawley

Monday 25th (De Tomaso, Lamborghini, Maserati, Zonda, Alfa Romeo, Fiat 500, Fiat Coupe and other Italian marques)

Starting from Rusper Alfa (Alfa, and FIAT), Other start point TBA


There will be FREE parking in Horsham for Italian cars all weekend, I'll check on that for any one who wants to come and see any of the other events, but our participation will be from 12-4pm on the Monday. We were asked last year, as with all drivers to donate £5-10 to the Chestnut Tree House Childrens Charity It's a small price to pay for all the adoration the cars will recieve. As you can see from the photos it's a great event and we all look forward to great day

Wow, thats a quick response I'll have to run a stand-by list too just in case. Please could we have cars that have no panel or paintwork damage (carpark dinks, no probs) I'm not being fussy just trying to get the best cars for the show as there is only space for about 10 cars in the designated area at present. It would also be nice to get a good spread of colors too, but I think that's just hoping If loads of you guys want to come I'll approach the organisers about getting a bigger area for us

I was going to go to Brooklands the following week but Easter Monday is a better day for me, I've never been to Horsham before (always try new things) and most of all you're missing the best colour

I think I'll have the best colour there - just can't decide which one !

That's great guys thanks for all those who have commited to coming. It's great being in a huge Italian convoy with a police escort and being allowed to honk for all your worth and rev up freely and do a few wheel spins if you dare all in the middle of a sleepy old market town. Kids want to sit in the cars and pretend, have pics taken and the public are genuinly interested in the cars too. They cant belive you can now own a pretty piece of Italian exotica for so little!

Like last year, it's a good way to finish the bank holiday weekend. A bit of Italian exotica, a day out in the fresh air to recover from the weekends excesses!

Rusper Alfa would be interesting, but busy and difficult to park, but we'd still end up at Hop Oast (last years meeting point) after and then do another convoy into Horsham town together

We got a police convoy from the Hop Oast Car park, I'm pretty sure we had to meet there anyway to get in, even those who met up first at Rusper Alfa.

Pete's coupe is yellow (16vt), think that's the only one

If Begbie gets his together in time, it too is yellow.

Why don't you pop down and indulge the eyes on the Zondas etc?

Well, the bodywork still stands as a grey front bumper, faded yellow bonnet with a brighter yellow on the lip due to a re-spray, rear quarters are suffering with laquer peel / some of it has been sanded back to primer, rear light cups have paint flaking off everywhere, so not being fussy

I'll see where I am with the car, as I'm trying to get it road legal for brooklands

Perhaps we ought to have a projects corner of the stand

I will be back in Horsham that weekend however my Scottie has a big dent in the boot so won't be paradeable. I will look out for you all.

We were in Market square last year. I've requested that we are there again as it's a great little spot, right by "Bar Vin" Although East Street is now pedestrianised so we might be moved due to space , we'll see on the day. Great to see you on the Monday if you can make it.

I am hoping to come along to this event in our Sprinty, only problem is I am on call, so will have to see if someone at work will swap with me! Will be able to confirm on 15th.

What are peoples preferences? meet at the Car Park at Hop Oast as last year or up at Rusper Alfa for a mad scrum I'm happy with either, just lets make a collective choice. I wont pm people to remind them, just comment upon this tread as to your preference.

Hop Oast as I think we have to start from there anyway.

I'm not familiar with the area so my preference would be somewhere we could all meet without too much stress or traffic.

Can you confirm in the thread the venue details etc (date, time etc).

Hop Oast as last year is perfect with me. Custard's been cleaned and readied, but the drive down for the weekend from Bristol will need a bit of a wipe over. I'm sure Duncan will bring the contents of his vast cleaning products

Hop Oast Location Point "B" on the map. Easy to get to just off the A24 at Southwater. Time will probably be between 11-11.30 for the convoy at 12pm into Horsham town centre, lights a blaze, horns a honking and over run popping

You would be amazed just how many insects crap on yellow cars this time of year too. Not quite so corrosive as pigeon poo but bakes on just as hard.

Managed to get half the car polished - in between thunderstorms - so hoping for some dry weather tomorrow to finish.

...but.....it does look like I've finally sorted the brake screech so ear plugs are now optional

Yes I am 99% OK for Brooklands (don't know why I said Goodwood earlier, must due to dementia!).

I've done some basic FCCUK Website based spec. sheets for all you guys so it cuts down on the 20 times you have to explain the differences between you and you neighbours car The only thing I can't find is some Blue-Tac for sticking them to the windscreens. Could someone bring a lump with them please. looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
