I think that once you reach the maximum air flow of the MAF at a certain rpm, the car only uses lambda values to control afr..generally the car will use safe values in order to avoid detonating on the pistons
It is possible to use a larger MAF to allow for this situation, but it has to be remapped for this to work, you can’t just plug another one in
