...should have it immediately picked up and then dropped literally on their doorstep.

If this was to happen, then nobody would see dog mess in a public place ever again.

The biggest piss take (or should I say shit leave confused ) is that you never ever see people take their dog for a walk in their own area and leave a mess there. It's always in someone else's area!

And now a message to all the responsible dog owners who do pick up their dog mess - THANK YOU!!! thumb cool

I agree!

The amount of dog shit I have to tell the grandkids to avoid when walking them to school is unbelievable grr

When I take my dogs for a walk, I usually let them out in the garden first and the Lurcher is generally very good and has to be in absolute dire need for her to do anything while out on a walk, but even so, I take a bag with me just in case.
The Labrador will crap, but again, I always have a bag to clean it up.

More bins around to put the crap in would help a lot and some councillors have started putting clean bags in a container on trees and lamposts for people to help themselves to and help combat the problem.

Totally agree. I've confronted people before, just walking off leaving a huge steaming pile in the middle of the road (and the dog did one too) laugh

Oh, and the people who leave dog £%& in the bag... In a tree...

The main bugbear around here is littering. It seems to be getting worse, like a generation have grown up with no concept of using a bin. I've been out litter picking (which feels surprisingly good) and within a week, it's back to normal again.
grr

Saw a social media post (take it with pinch of salt) with a story about someone confronting another person for not picking up their dog mess.

The dog walker reportedly refused, so this person waited for them to leave the area and then smeared it all over the door handles of their car.

Oh, the satisfaction.....

I must admit I would hate picking up after my dog (if I had one) but I'd accept that is part of ownership.

Happened outside my sons school, within a stones throw of the dog mess bin. I reported it daily to the council with a map and everything.

They sent some people around but didn''t catch the person. The council weren't interested in fitting a £100 camera to the side of the school, stating the angle wouldn't be perfect, which I found most bizarre given all it had to do was point at the front of the school.

One day it stopped.

I'm currently at war with my neighbour who is one of those people. Difference is it's MY garden that's covered in it.
As I'm only at home 3 days a week she thinks it ok to shut her dog out in my garden, and picks up the shit maybe once a month, if she feels like it.
I went round with a spade and picked up 30+ piles of it and left them on her doorstep, and now I'm the problem neighbour!?!

Get a camera to record her sharman!

Lol, it makes me laugh that people like us are the problem people/neighbours when we finally snap and retaliate grr

I've spent my weekend off being surrounded by retard neighbours having music sound offs and seeing who's kid can scream the loudest, which adult can be the loudest, who can slam the door the most and loudest and generally who can be the loudest, most obnoxious c***s grr

Work is crap, but I was glad to go in earlier and get away from it all.

If I had your neighbour, I would be smearing that shit on her door handles and windows and if it still didn't stop, her f**king face grr

As for fouling in public I think there is a very effective solution.
All dogs are now legally microchipped, so a database exists. All dogs should be subjected to a license and have to be presented to a vet to get it. At that time a DNA sample is taken (the cost is covered by the licence fee) so the chip number contains owners details and dogs DNA profile.
Councils can then employ wardens and clean up crews, who can take samples of any found and DNA tested to find offending dog. Offending owner gets the bill for the warden, the clean up and the DNA test along with a fine.
People will very quickly start picking it up.

I always pick up my dogs' mess. Except when I can't find it. Sometimes they poo quite a distance away and by the time I've run up to the area they have run off and I can't find it in the long grass. There is no excuse at all for leaving it on the pavement. Somebody kept leaving enormous dog turds on the pavement on the way to the path. It was someone who walked their dog either really late or really early when nobody was about. There are not many really big dogs hereabouts and I suspect the poo was from an Alsatian somebody bought to guard his old mother after she had a burglary. The poor dog hardly ever got a walk and was shut in most of the time, constantly barking. He must have been so desperate for a poo when he did get a walk that he couldn't wait til they got to the park. Anyhow, the mega poos stopped happening after the old lady died.
