Ideals gearbox oil leak - 08/05/2018 13:26

Hi all
Have had an small oil leak/drip from the bottom of gearbox ( drain plug area) . Had clutch , seals , slave done recently , there wasn’t a leak before .
The garage (different garage) are struggling to find the leak without stripping down .
Leaking gets worse when hot.
Any ideas
Thanks in advance.

The drain plug itself hasn't been damaged or cross threaded has it?

Sounds like if not its back to the garage who did the work and just ask them to put it back as it was before they had it (i/e no drips)

Disappointing when your paying for things and they come back with fresh problems.

Check both the drain plugs are tight. Could also try some thread sealing tape if there's a slight leak and the plug looks OK.

Not on a Coupe, but I have had it happen on a classic 500, it was dripping onto the exhaust and created a lot of smoke, again, only when warm. Trial and error with a couple of different new o-rings solved the problem.
Hopefully you have found the cause of the leak. thumb
