Brembo caliper corrosion - 09/08/2018 16:47
I was very kindly given a pair of brembos today. After a good clean up I've found a lot of corrosion around the mounting lugs. It looks quite worrying to me. Is this common or have these been abused in some way?

It looks pretty typical for an area where two different metals meet, although worrying for sure.
I have seen it a lot where the sliders are bolted on too

Yeah I've just been reading up on galvanic corrosion and it seems that they have threaded steel inserts that cause the chemical reaction. They don't look safe for sure but I'm wondering if that's common and repairable or are they scrap.

I’ve thrown away one set myself for corrosion in other area, so hopefully yours can be repaired
