clutch solid on the pedal

Hello team-

our project car is no longer responding to the (attempted) pushing of the clutch pedal. The pedal is solid and will not depress.

Can anyone say if this is likely to be the master or slave cylinders..?

Are you sure it's not the arm/pivot mechanism thingummy at the clutch end that hasn't seized through lack of use? Or even at the pedal end? (seems less likely)

Maybe someone put a block of wood under the pedals to stop them being pressed whilst working on the brakes, etc?

one of mine did this then all of a sudden released to floor and stayed there. Was the slave cylinder. Took 3 attempts to get correct one

yes; I think that is likely- I just wanted an external opinion- we spend more time away from & thinking about the car, than actually at the car! So these questions go a long way to aid our thinking.

That sounds terrifying Jonnyboy- I did see a slave-cylinder yesterday online somewhere that said it was 'push in'- I wonder if there's a guide for slave-cylinder replacement..?

I've found it...

Maybe the slave is seized, open the bleed nipple at the slave and see if you can push fluid out with the pedal.

The rubber boot is completely perished

Piston is probably seized in the slave then.

My assumptions are similar

Got the circlip pliars lined up for slave cylinder removal-
