When I did mine a couple of years ago I used a Lancia integrale stat because I could not find one. But it did involve modification, which included drilling and then tapping, so by no means straight forward

They are *very* difficult to obtain. They are no longer made, even by second sources, and so far every lead I have followed has been to a dead end.

There have been a couple of threads recently in which people have (a) placed a renault capsule directly in the top hose or (b) cut the top hose and placed a manufactured inline thermostat in the gap.

There *may* be some available in Brazil.

I got mine yesterday from Ebay. The shop is mancars1992. The thermostat is a N/A one that needs 2 more holes to fit in turbo engine and it did cost 50 euros and shipping 15 euros.
I am really excited about it. It was very difficult to find one.

Not that I have an issue at the moment but planning for the future; what Renault 5 serial number is the one that'll fit within the hose if you know Neil please? Is it this one by any chance - https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rover-75-mg-zt-cdti-inline-thermostat-89-degrees - although the temp rating is different. Also I know that many in the 75 / ZT community don't bother removing the original thermostat as they're normally stuck open so is this essential for the coupe? On a general note why on earth did they stop producing them as they're available for all other coupe marques .. confused grr

Thanks BBR. The up to date link as far as I can see is Neils:
Fiat Coupe Club UK » Forums » Advice and FAQ's » How To's » 16V (two litre) inline thermostat replacement

This is the one that's supplied by https://www.specialist-components.co.uk/.

My query was the spec of the Renault thermostat that's placed within the hose. smile

Scuderia found this Lancia thermostat which *appears* to be the same casting as the Fiat part, but which will require some holes and spigots sorting out: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermostat-Lancia-Thema-2-0-16V-Sauger-104-kw-7659876/191887794354

It also appears that Deltaparts still list the NA stat: https://deltaparts1.wordpress.com/deltaparts-shop/cooling/ (scroll down).

I can't find the thread that mentioned the Renault part.
