Alfa Blue & Me - 09/11/2017 12:36

My Spider's Bluetooth phone link seemed to be working fine, but now if I have a call say lasting more than a couple of minutes, it can suddenly emit a deafening, screeching, buzzing noise from the speakers which remains even if you drop the call. grr
I imagine it is exactly the same system fitted to a 159 or Brera and possibly other Fiat group cars?
It happens even if I am parked up when taking the call?
The buzzing noise can be turned down by reducing the stereo volume, but remains until you have to leave the car and return to it after a period of it being locked up etc???
The dash and stereo shows the call as continuing even though you have ended it on your handset. You cannot switch to radio, CD or aux when it happens.

Sadly I have not found the alfa forum anything like as good as on here for getting technical info for this sort of thing. shocked
Would a stereo specialist like Sexton's be able to get to the bottom of the problem?

Cheers in anticipation. smile

B&M has always been utter cr@p in my experience.

It sounds a bit like you have feedback. I’d have thought a Fiat/Alfa dealership might be a better bet as there might be a firmware or software fix.

I think you are probably right MRS.
I'll have a chat with the specialist I used recently and then try and find a local Fiat/Alfa dealer.

Thanks

Had this in my 159 at the weekend, exactly the same problem although mine fixed itself after I reinstalled my phone.

Believe a few people have had B and M issues post the latest Apple ios release, don't know what phone you've got but worth a try.

Guess you've tried Alfa Owner forum B and M area?

In recent years I haven't had an issue, though on one occasion I had to stop the vehicle, engine off, and engine on again before the phone and radio started up again.

Blue and me is a microsoft product. Perhaps I should have just closed all the windows...

Or given it a hefty kick to "reboot" it!

Did you have to uninstall the phone first?
Mine's an iPhone 5.
The last iPhone OS update might be the cause?

AO B&M issues are mostly focused on installation...

PS I'll keep my windows open! laugh

Yes I uninstalled the phone and reinstalled it as if I was adding a new phone, haven't had any problems since..

Think the latest ios update is very possibly the root cause, too many Apple users seem to having B &M problems recently for it not to be connected in some way.

Many thanks
I'll have to dig out the guide to uninstall and then reinstall.
Fingers crossed.

Better assistance always on the Fiat Forum other than the Alfaowner forum from my experience, always members willing to help on FF. Very much like this forum.

I've deleted Blue & Me from my iPhone 5 following an OS upgrade and then reconnected it via the car.
Hopefully, all will be well with the system now? rolleyes

The suggestion now is the head unit has gone & I need to replace it. cry
I want to keep the steering wheel controls, so I guess an aftermarket replacement is not the way to go?
