Happened to me about 3 years ago whilst having a weekend break in London. Dreadful pain, nausea, sweats etc so they called an ambulance but subsequently passed it out later that day. The docs put it down to possible dehydration as it was a fairly warm / humid spell of summer weather. Subsequent tests and scan revealed an all clear.

Hope it all gets sorted soon Neil!

Cheers, guys. Still waiting for a scan to confirm the details but believe me there's still something in there!

So no flying holiday in Spain this weekend as planned... the air guides say no charge, the car hire say no charge, Stansted parking say £7.50 to cancel... Easyjet say even if you snuff it, you still can't get a refund. Though I *can* get the air passenger duty, so I will, just to annoy them.

And Anita is on the beach in Rio laugh

Re: Kidney stones. - 06/03/2018 18:06

How weird is it that I find a topic on kidney stones when Im currently suffering from them myself.....

I had one about 8 month ago whilst working offshore, was creased up in pain but no work, no pay so I struggled through and took freshly squeezed lemons twice a day for 8 days before I passed a small piece of debris. The pain relief was instant!!!

However, the same pain returned only two days ago to my lower back, right kidney area and groin and yet again Im offshore. Hope the same approach works or I'll be getting medi-vaced onshore.

Ive also just ordered some Lab Grade Chanca Piedra from here
https://www.kidneyatlas.org/dissolve-kidney-stones/
in hope that if it doesn't pass within the next 2 weeks away at work, I have something to take as soon as I get home

I have suffered many types of pain, this is not one I would wish to experience any time...ever. Hope you get though it neal. I did hear something about ultrasound being used to turn these to dust but dont expect the NHS to pick up the tab

Re: Kidney stones. - 11/03/2018 11:50

Not kidney stones, but I did suffer from kidney failure as a result of blocked ureters 2 years ago. One kidney was rescued with a procedure called a pyeloplasty and the other removed. The pain was horrific as the kidneys had become blocked and filled with 3 litres of fluid in one and a lesser amount in another, apparently another 24-48 hours and I would have been dead from blood poisoning!
The pyeloplasty procedure gives better resistance kidney stones apparently, so hopefully I wont have to go through kidney pain ever again.

Speedy recovery Neil.

Just be aware that Ibruprofen pain relief can cause kidney damage, so go easy on those if you are taking them, stick to paracetamol if possible. Also certain types of anti histamine too. Speak to your doctor for the best options when suffering from kidney problems. Get well soon!
