have a look here there is a castle combe date 25th july but nothing in august . its open pit lane (which i think is much better) for £169
i quite fancy combe myself

I'll be at Combe sometime in the next few months, depending on what car I own at the time (the 911 is currently up for sale). Going to go back to a race car.

What's the score with insurance?

Insurance is void on trackdays unless u take out trackday insurance.
I don't know how much it is for a day I have never bothered.

Looking at Castle Coombe own website, they do semi-open pit lane for £170 with FREE instruction. This is cheaper than Javelin. Is the Javelin deal better in some way?

I'm booked in for this Friday if anyone is about? First shakedown for my Elise, should be converted to a race car in the next two months.

I need to understand which deal is best before I book. Any ideas? 25th July is still looking the favorite.

i'm booked in for monday now. (castle combe) as i have the week off work, and i was getting a strong trackday urge!

i have done a few trackdays and never bothered with insurance as i only paid £300 for my coupe

if you have never done a trackday before then the javelin instructor takes you out for a few laps

My question was; Castle Coombe offer free instruction, whereas Javelin charge £20. So is Javelin a better deal than booking direct with Coombe?

Semi open pit lane is not as good as open pit lane where you're free to come and go as you like (providing track isn't full). Semi open (although not a format I think I've ever seen operated at combe), will mean you have only certain windows you can go out in.

I'm still thinking the 25th July to stretch mines legs before Spa.

Insurance sorted. For me and the Mrs to drive £83 total with Moris. Adrian Flux wanted £123.

3 i had to start a new job on the 7th so i swapped it for the 25th july

Fast circuit apparently. Getting nervous !!

It's one of the quicker circuits in the UK, yes. Avon rise, the continuation of the main pit straight, has an interesting bit of adverse camber at the end, which sees the rear end go a little bit light as by which you could see 140mph, and at least be over 100mph.

Are you still thinking of coming on the 25th?

I'll be in my VIS so will be trying to keep up with the turbo boys (and no doubt failing).
