Breakfast meet, Hampshire.

Breakfast meet, Hampshire. - 15/08/2017 14:22

I've received an email to the Club's account regarding a meet some of you could be interested in:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We run a very informal Italian Car Breakfast Meet four times a year which may be of interest to your members, and I wonder if you would be good enough to add it to your events page.

It is a completely free-to-attend and friendly meet, held on the first Saturdays of April, June, August, and October. On that basis, our final meet for this year will be held on Saturday 7th October. We will then re-start on the first Saturday of April 2018.

The event is held at The Departure Lounge Caf, in Alton, Hampshire, starting at 10am. The Caf has a good field which we can use to display cars separately from the regular car park. The address is as below:

The Departure Lounge
Basingstoke Road
Alton
Hampshire
GU34 4BH

The event is open to any Italian made car of any age, and we have had just under 50 cars from classics to modern supercars representing every major Italian marque. There is no need to book, and attendees can simply come along if they feel like it to show their car, chat to other enthusiasts and have some breakfast if they would like to.

I hope this will be of interest.

Kind regards,
Ross

I hope to be there as its only half an hour up the road. Popped up there a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday morning where there was a car booty on but the site looked really nice with a large grassed area in front of the cafe

Spotted this mentioned in last months Auto Italia magazine. They have a regular monthly meet there which often draws 200-300 classic cars of all types, filling the field. We've been a few times as it's local to us, I can highly recommend the food.

We'll certainly be going to this, as new members it will also serve as an opportunity to meet some of you.

Re: Breakfast meet, Hampshire. - 06/10/2017 12:55

What time is everyone planning on getting there tomorrow?

Looks like an hours drive for me (and mine)...

Starts 10am right?
Posted By: PeteP

Re: Breakfast meet, Hampshire. - 06/10/2017 14:02

Yes 10 am Richard, I shall be leaving home about 9:30 : it's only about 12 miles away.

If you are going M25 then M3, A325, A31, the roadworks on the M3 for the last 2 years are finally complete.

Can I suggest that whoever arrives first mentions to the marshals that there will be half a dozen of us coming and could we parked together please?

Sorry guys I can't make it today. Three days until payday, I have literally 50p to my name after buying the weekend's food, and the fuel gauge is already flashing orange.

Re: Breakfast meet, Hampshire. - 07/10/2017 15:25

We counted 8 Coupes

2 silver (BBKing + 1)
2 Blue (Lappers + 1)
2 Broomy (PeteP + 1 PH)
1 Wine Red (Gunzi)
1 Porto (me)

Chris had his bonnet up again lol - but to look at codes on startrek (I will post in your other thread) and even Pete showed off what is under the bonnet of his Broomy smile

Helen, Millie and I had a great time meeting you all at such a great (if not drizzly) field of the departure lounge cafe, so thank all and see you soon we hope.

Pics to follow on FB smile

I was showing Chris the wonders of self-amalgamating tape on electrics, not reminding him what a proper engine looks like, so I think that can be excused Richard.
