My coupe just finished on pistonheads but didn't sell. How much do you guys think I should get for it as it might of been priced to high. Spec as follows:
1997 p reg
94300 miles
20vt
Portofino blue
Good clean body with a few tiny dings
Good clean interior
Dial and dash rings
Button start
Miltek exhaust
Dv006 recirculating dump valve
K n filter and drilled box
Manual boost controller
Boost gauge
Painted rocker cover
Remapped by flea
New falken fk452 tyres on front
In last year:
New wishbones
New anti roll bar drop links
New track rod ends
New passenger side steering rack gaitor
New belts (all)
New water pump
New clutch
New front brake hoses
Serviced oct 2011, full service history
Mot end June
Tax til end may
No smoke
New discs fitted in last 18 months all round(drilled and grooved)
New front pads in last 18 months
New thermostat 2 years ago
Car always idled for atleast 2 mins before setting off and always at full working temperature before using any boost and cooled down. I'd take £1500.
What do you think any advise appreciated

I would have said 2k is very good price for your car.

I have no idea why these cars in good condition are so cheap. I know when Im done with mine, I will be breaking it as I know I will get alot more.

When I come to buy a house next year I will need to raise as much money as possible, and IF I can't get a fair price for my car, I think it's in MY best interests to do with MY car what I want.

So I will break it sell the parts to forum owners so that more than 1 Coupe can carry on....

I know it is not the ideal thing to do as I do love the Coupe but I can guarantee if you have not already bought a second hand part from anther Coupe you will in the future so your comment is a bit of a contradiction.

Who the hell are Waldorf and Stadler - remember, I'm not your age Steve laugh Spa will be a no as everytime I say yes I can't go, maybe hop on a drop out nearer the time if all is well.

As for detailing, I will be able to do a couple after xmas if the demand is there using very unique and proven products that will waterproof and completely seal the paintwork - after it's been refined of course. However, this would not come cheap! We are talking £280.00 a car!

You are of course entitled to do what you want with you're coupe. But if you take into account the amount of time it will take to break it,then its not profitable on a one of basis.
The coupe enthusiast tends to think of the car first and not profit. We are now getting into times of saving coupes and there are already plenty of parts for sale all over Europe. The majority of second hand cars bought, resell at a loss, thats a given. So why should the coupe be sold for parts just to make sure the owner makes a profit when said owner decides to sell.

Funny how I get the crap for mentioning breaking MY car.

But some people seem to be selling second hand parts every other day on the forum, I wonder what they are doing.

Cheers

Sorry if you are offended, that was not my intention. I was just airing my view really. I understand we all have to make unpleasant choice's at times.

To be honest I'd rather it sell for a bit less and sell the car complete as it's in good condition and would be a waste to see it broken up for parts.
Especially as there's not many left now. It'll be a shame to see it go.

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Know what you mean but how do you know the buyer won't check the oil and kill the engine within a couple of weeks of getting it. Or be a lousy driver who smashes it up just a few miles after buying it off you.

We all get attached to our cars but do what's best for you, not others on the forum.
