I will be Mart. And Minimetaller. We can leave at a decent hour, have breakfast at the hotel before we go. I hate milling around on ferries, and the overpriced rubbish food and drink!!

Looking at the 9.50 crossing, a sociable hour, at £69 for the car and all passengers. Will book up tunnel crossing and Spa tickets nearer the end of the month.

Yeah, Dad and I with a car each will be going that way. They've put the prices up I see, was only £45 about a month ago frown Still less hassle than a boat though.

Ok chaps, I'll train it too then! I wouldn't mind the boat for a change I suppose, but it was just so quick and easy on the euro tunnel last time! thumb

I'm still undecided about what to do with the car to be honest. I'm going to do a couple of track days over here next year and see how it goes.

JBT has suggested that it would be a good idea to post the link to the Travelodge hotel in Ashford for those who want to stop over Thursday and Sunday nights.

Here it is. http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/info?hotelId=4

Rooms currently available at £19 a night.

Thanks John.

I don't see a section to ask this - but perhaps some kind soul could list the necessary accoutrements required before one is allowed on the track?

i.e. helmets, gloves and such.

There is one in the 2011 sub-forum Neil.
I was going to wait until nearer the time for 2012 before repeating it, but it can be done sooner if it helps folks.

The only one I could find was the one in the 2010 section, Pete, which implied helmets required only for the Scuderia (and presumably not for the coupe only tracks).

That's about it Neil.

Helmets must be worn, other than that our insurers will insist that drivers wear gloves, but that is not a track requirement.
The insurers will also insist that participants have blood alcohol levels below the legal limit for driving on the road.

I will be able to expand further when I see the insurance policy for next years event.

To quote Article 6 - Access to the track - from the contract the club has signed:
Quote:
The Subtenant (that's the club) will take care to inform the participants in his session that the wearing of helmet and the safety belt is compulsory for the driver and the possible passenger.

He also recognises to have been informed that the children under age 15 are not authorised to take a place as passsenger.

He recognises to have been informed of current noise restriction applied on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps and that participating cars may not generated (sic) noise above 103db.

I will check later but my understanding is that children under 15 are allowed to be passengers in cars taking part in the Grande Parade sessions.

Yes, it is possible as some folks have not paid before the deadline Sem, so we cannot hold their places.

Ask him to give us his details and deposit as soon as possible please.

As you may have seen my coupe is up for sale at the moment - so i'll be leaving it until the last minute to see whether i come or not now. Obviously depending on whether there are any spaces left and I have a coupe at the time!!

Cheers,

Nick
