If you mean the 80k supercar driven by an ex stock car champ then i vaguely remember a spec in my mirror followed by excuses when we returned.

I would love to go on this but I am off to the Italian GP so funds and timescales wont allow me to do both frown

I have been before, there really is nothing else like it in the world, and it is everything that you expect and more, highly recommend it! cool

When you are in the queue, text home and get a screenprint of your car here....

http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/webcams.php

The last time I did the Ring hehe I stayed in Cochem ( I know, it sounds sooooo wrong! :D) its about 30 - 40 minutes away on some good roads, its on the Mosel river with plenty of hotels, so you might find a bargain/group deal, the food was good, plentyful and cheap too.

It is a nice town with a great Irish bar too, so if you get fed up with the steins of lager... drink

Ferries from Hull are worth a look too... for the northern folk! laugh

I suggest anyone that hasn't bought breakdown cover and is planning on going to the Ring invests in ADAC cover.
Costs about 70 quid for joint cover and is the only way if you do breakdown on the curcuit that you are going to get recovered gratis otherwise from memory its about 180 Euros for the privalege.
On my last trip landing in Calais at 6am French time i was in Adenau at 9.30am - that was clear roads and doing 80-85 all the way, be careful speeding through Belgium.
Cochem is a beautiful place, for anyone who has not been the scenery is fantastic.
Would love to come but finances are a bit tight at the moment!.
I would expect a healthy stock Coupe 20vt to be down to 9min or thereabout if driven by someone who knows where they are going...

Cheers Pete.

August is set.

Need to get this week out of the way as i have 2 track days to prepare my own car and others for so struggling for time.

If anyone else fancies going through Marcos link and helping me out on getting this booked until i can get on here properly then i would appreciate it.

Ross, put your name down and free up some space in your wallet.

Nobby, what happened to buying the Rs?

At the moment i have some shotgun rides available.

Pick them up for circa 6k onwards now.Dropped massive amount,.
Full historied one will fetch a good 10k though,Still not bad for an 80 motor.

Change of plan,

Been talking to CJH and we are planning to coincide this trip with his Roadhog run.

Hes going from brans hatch indy circuit on the friday to the ring on friday night.

Hes already confirmed the eurotunnel at around £88 return.

SO if its alright with all you folks then i will let CJ follow up on this thread with the details as i think its around the 28th August.

OK everyone - here we go!

Hows about renaming this thread to "Brands to Nurburg"

JBT and I have had a chat and think we have a cracking weekend lined up!

You may or may not know about the Roadhog Roadtrip we run

You may not know Katie Green

You may not know Brands Hatch

You may not know the Eurotunnel

BUT - If you do or that sounds interesting..then have a peek at whats in store!

Friday 24th August 2012
I have booked Brands already - Kentagon Restauraunt - and will supply food.
I have reserved spaces for 30 cars for some great photo ops.
Katie Green will be there for the whole day - as will a few other promo gals - for the females we will have the ripped Roadhog Team and some other hot petrol heads crazy All of whom you can hae a few snaps with!

We will arrive at Brands for 10am launch party leave TBC but circa midday/1pm

I am currently haggling with Brands for a little track time for my participants cars - and would hope to extend this to you guys IF i get my time.

Then off to the Chunnel - again I have a reduced rate of £88 per car return (I have already paid the deposit for 25 cars and a few more wont be a problem)
Then we travel together toward the Ring..we will be doing a treasure hunt on route so you guys will be well gone...

So from you guys - and I am open to thoughts...

I would want you to carry a Dreams Come True sticker and a Roadhog Sticker on your vehicle - (Rear quarter window should do - website on front or rear windscreen) -0 this will allow you the reduced rate and awkward questions near the time

Considering your getting some great benefits I think - I would ask you donate to the charity before the event - again what do folk think this is worth - given the above?

Would be great to make this an annual event

Let me know - it would need to be soon as I need to book any final spots.

Your arrival to Nurburg I think is to be sorted with JBT - or if i get time I can have a look at this too - you could just stick with us as we will be camping in a decent site right next to it...with a bar and our resident DJ and entertainment. And that is where the team up ends sadly.. laugh unless you wanna join?

We then travel on to the depths of Europe and return on the 27th

OK, my interest is suitably piqued, but are you suggesting we cough up ~£400 for a years subscription to the charity?

I'm all for charities, in moderation, but that would be OTT for a 'road trip' with all the other extras involved. Advice please.

No mate - not what I'm suggesting at all....you guys are invited to the location and enjoy the benefits in return for an ammount toward the charity
We now have a price of £75 return in P and O btw
So to clarify - our event launches from Brands on 24th from 8am-12noon
We will have our own bar area overlooking the track, a few tunes, I have paid for food and you buy a few drinks if you need - so after brunch you pop a
Couple of event stickers subtly to the car (window or wherever) this will then allow

Take advantage of a great rate with p
And o ... However if you all want this option you will need to let me know who is definitely going this week tO arrange booking the. A ref number for you to pay your crossing

Cool...just to be clear that you would only be with us for the launch event and then a little but of France - so this event purely overlaps with your trip to nurburg ring...
