Just arrived today is my new forge dv006 which I look forward to getting fitted (bosch one failed). While I'm at it I am going to change the standard air filter. So question is, what to go for?

Is the car standard , remapped or gtec'd ?

Gtec1 mate and then standard apart from that. Just fitted the dump valve there took about 30 mins. Took the car a run, felt better but I'm still sure there's something holding back or something. I'm going to order a boost guage on eBay today.

If your standard with a gtec 1 then there are two choices a panel filter and keep the standard airbox that you can drill to get more air in to the system or a K&N cone filter but this makes a lot more noise in the car and some folks don't like it .
