I've just bought a Pure Highway DAB head unit. It scores very well in reviews and generally retails around £130 in Halfords, but it's available new on Amazon for £70. It's sold as the H260DBi, but it looks as though the model supplied is the H270SB. As far as I can tell this is simply a different name for the same product (the European version), having compared the user manuals page by page.

Looks a good deal, but knowing my luck... Anyway, I'll report back if/when it arrives.

Linky: Pure Highway H260DBi/H270SB

Unit arrived this morning (ordered last Friday - very speedy delivery).

It is the H270SB, not the H260DBi, but as far as I can tell the only difference is the name.

As long as it works, it looks a very good deal!

Installed antenna and head unit today. Found there was sufficient space for the antenna "box" alongside the sunroof motor cables under the front of the roof lining; no need to remove more than the sun visor and mirror. The power is clearly sufficient for the antenna as I get a great reception on the DAB channels. Apart from R5Lx, which seems to be missing. The cabling for the ISO connectors at the back of the HU was a bit tight, so I got an extension from Halfords. All sorted and appears to sound ok too.
Sorry, I haven't got any problems or questions!

A little research suggests that 5 live sports extra only broadcasts when it has a live event, so I'll try again when the cricket starts!

Edit: no it's actually on R5L.....

I was in the gym when it started this morning, but frankly, I'd have been calling the match-fixing hotline if Murray had won. Listened to Arctic Monkeys instead!

No worries, Ben. It's a good bit of kit, glad you took advantage!

What antenna did you buy for the head unit Jim?

I bought the DAB AA1 film antenna from Halfords, as recommended by Edinburgh. It's the cheapest, but so far works fine in the wilds of Gloucestershire. I snipped off the thin supplementary power lead, once I established that the unit self powered the antenna.

Looks so tempting a deal I think I will give it a try, thanks for the heads up Jim.

It does everything I want, though I've never tried using the Bluetooth phone function (nobody phones me...)
I like having the USB port for plugging in the TomTom

I should have it by the weekend so will see how it goes and will sync my mobile to test the Bluetooth function.

Yes it did and I just need to drop into Halfords this week for the antenna and some blessed warmer weather
