It gets used if you need to programme a new key into the immobiliser for instance, but these days keycutters can simply clone a new key without it. 16VT and X1/9 1500 We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

gralegav Reaping the fruits G Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 53 London	As PeteP says, you can even get a spare key cut form your normal key, I got mine for 40 quid from Timpsons! They clone the original key, so it still works with the immobiliser.
